Ole has been our most consistent manager but we still didn't show enough progress, even when we finished 2nd.
There were no indicators that we'll improve further to compete for the league. We got points from moments of quality rather than having top quality teamwork, link up play and controlling the game.
This is under Ole who's been our best manager.
I wonder if he'll accept an interim job if Ten Hag is fired.
Unfortunately who can we hire as a replacement.
Tuchel is a fraud and Southgate isn't good enough.
Poch seems like the best bet.
Erik Ten Hag

If you keep a manager on, you then have to buy the players he wants. You can't buy players for an imaginary manager. You've got nothing to go on. And you can't sign no one otherwise you'd fall further.dozer wrote: ↑1 month agoIt's not just about the contract.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑1 month ago People saying Ineos can't sack Hag after backing him in the summer. They can. They didn't back him per se, they extended his deal for another year cos they couldn't find anybody who was better right now. They were open about the process and the reasoning.
After another 3/4 games of pure bollocks, there will be better candidates out there. Managers that can steady the ship.
Ineos bought more Dutch/Ajax players - these were clearly players identified by Ten Hag and not Ineos recommendations.
More importantly Ineos hired staff with mostly Dutch/Ajax connections. These were also most likely people identified by Hag.
That's a solid backing considering they almost fired him after last season.
I don't think the new manager keeps the recently hired staff if they came here to work with Ten Hag instead of the club.
Also keep in mind that if this season is a disaster, the new staff are also accountable. What's Ruud's responsibility atm?
He will also be accountable for how we do this season.
It's not clear why we hired managers instead of coaches. Is Ruud a top coach as well? Idk, it's a genuine question.
So the club have backed ten hag a lot more than just that contract extension. Firing him has become harder now.
But I agree, I think the transfer policy hasn't changed enough yet. But that makes sense when the CEO & DoF came in in July and have a lot of other shit to sort out, mainly getting spending under control.
The football will be the last thing to change. Ratcliffe said it himself. The conversation on what football United should play and therefore what players we should buy hasn't even happened yet.
And tbf to the planet destroying cunts, Ineos have brought in some positive changes in regards to transfers. We made some good deals, didn't get rinsed once, and also sold players for more than a pittance. Who we sign is another issue, one further down the road.

If we hadn't just got battered by the scousers at home, I'd be able to swallow this pill easier. Important we keep reminding ourselves of it. It's still fair to be seriously critical of Ten Hag because it's a pattern, but expecting us to suddenly look mint in the next 5 games is optimistic.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑1 month ago If you keep a manager on, you then have to buy the players he wants. Here's a question, what style of football should United play in the Ineos era? What's our DNA?Felwin wrote: ↑1 month agoIf we hadn't just got battered by the scousers at home, I'd be able to swallow this pill easier. Important we keep reminding ourselves of it. Possession based like Pep, high pressing attacking football like Klopp, something in-between like Madrid, or, something completely new?
Tbh, I've no fucking idea. I have my doubts we'll ever play modern football effectively.
You need to be able to ring the changes depending on who you’re playing and change style within a game.
There is no one best formula, although you do need to be able to play at high tempo. But that doesn’t mean everyone dashes around like a blue arsed fly. Quick thinking is as important as quick legs.
