The gamblers fallacy is thinking that because a team hasn't won or drawn in agaes "they are due a win". When you bet on a heavy underdog at say 5-1 the odds are broadly correct that you will win about every 6 games; but if the odds are slightly innaccurate and you make the same bet following certain criteria hundereds of times, you can grind out a 5-10% edge.

I lay odds on betting exchanges and make around 1000 bets per month in leagues all over the world.

So far my timing has been awful, I have chosen to get interested at Utd's lowest ebb. The flip side is that when Amorim wins the treble it will be all the sweeter.

Really interesting. I used to play on an exchange, taking and making bets, and could earn a fair income each month. Then my account was cancelled because I live in Germany and the exchange couldn’t reach an agreement over taxes.
Which exchange ar you using?

The vast majority of gamblers make money "trading" on the exchanges. Treating it like a stock market, making a bet, waiting for a goal and cashing out with a small profit from the jump in odds.
I do straight "set n' forget" value betting. All on Betfair and fully automated using BF Bot Manager.

Interesting. It was Betfair that I ws using too, until they pulled out of Germany. Disappointing as I had been with them from launch and knew one of the guys that set it up.

That's very nice but who are you?

I've removed your signature as this is not an advertisement space. It's a forum for Manchester United discussion.

It's been years since I logged back in here. Hope everyone is doing great. Seemed a good time to be back and see the mood around after yesterday.
