No return in sight, talk his back injury is serious and he might be fucked. That added to Martinez not being able to stay fit and Maguire out of contract, all of a sudden we look a bit threadbare at CB
I'm shocked that De Ligt turned out to be a crock. No chance we saw that coming when we signed that cunt.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑3 months ago No return in sight, talk his back injury is serious and he might be fucked. How is this sudden? It's easy to predict that Yoro and Heaven will be our only options next season. If we keep these two crocks, we'll technically have enough numbers but we'll probably sign more defenders. Now when these two crocks play a few games, 2 defenders won't get enough game time and they won't develop. This is why we shouldn't sign crocks.

I read something somewhere not long after he went off with injury that behind the scenes knew that he had played his last game for United. At the time I read that, I thought 'bullshit' but now it doesn't seem so.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑3 months ago No return in sight, talk his back injury is serious and he might be fucked. Did you see a back injury incoming for a player that had never had a back injury in his career up to that point?dozer wrote: ↑3 months agoI'm shocked that De Ligt turned out to be a crock. If so, unless you're a doctor, you're probably in the wrong profession, clubs will pay handsomely for talent that can predict unseen injuries.

Fuck. Not good at all. I can very much see us keeping Maguire for another couple of years, which I'd be fine with.fat maradona wrote: ↑3 months agoI read something somewhere not long after he went off with injury that behind the scenes knew that he had played his last game for United. Feel sorry for the lad. Might be a similar situation to Michael Owen as De Ligt played a lot of top-level football at a young age. He was our best player bar Bruno before his injury, but honestly you feel he'd be stepping aside anyway in 1-2 seasons as we have to make a path for Yoro and/or Heaven if we want them to be good.
We're massively reliant on Martinez for building up and he's only typically available for half a season. Maguire is injury prone himself and still hasn't decided if he wants to stay, wouldn't put it past him fucking off before he becomes a scapegoat once again if/when our form dips. De Ligt is seemingly gone. Shaw as an emergency backup is no longer an option. So yeah, looks like we might need a CB sooner rather than later.
More for the squad thread than here, but I reckon we'd be best off just betting the house on Yoro coming good. Maguire and Martinez can jobshare. Can't see us having the budget for 2 CM's 2 FBs AND a CB

I just saw his fitness record prior to his move here. Frequent injuries - like Shaw, maybe not as bad, I can't recall but it was significant.Jason wrote: ↑3 months agoDid you see a back injury incoming for a player that had never had a back injury in his career up to that point?dozer wrote: ↑3 months agoI'm shocked that De Ligt turned out to be a crock. If we are signing players based on their past performances, we should expect to see other traits continue as well , like player's behaviour off the pitch, social media antics, fitness record, controversies etc. The future may still be different but it's not unreasonable to expect those traits to continue.

He's gone in for surgery on his back. At this point, there has to be a chance he never comes back?
We have to in for a CB this summer

We need 2. I thought we needed 3 but Maguire decided to extend.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑4 weeks ago He's gone in for surgery on his back. At this point, there has to be a chance he never comes back?

We have to lose De Ligt (if we can) and Lisandro. This window will probably be our best opportunity to sell him because his stock is pretty high.

No chance of selling deligt while recovering from surgery!dozer wrote: ↑4 weeks agoWe need 2. I thought we needed 3 but Maguire decided to extend.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑4 weeks ago He's gone in for surgery on his back. At this point, there has to be a chance he never comes back?

They must have thought they could have managed it without surgery, so not sure if thats a positive or negative sign. Let's hope its able to sort him out, but back problems can be really tricky to sort.
At most I can see us signing 1cb, unless there is something available really cheap like mazaroui, and we pick us a deal like that. Could do worse than senesi to bolster the numbers.
