Aaah so you do still get excited by football. From all your moaning i'm surprised you still enjoy the game.Snoopcousins wrote:Fuck....Justin and Danni must be lying in bed together as they both came out with the same shite there....
We DID NOT spend our "mighty funds" and I don't think 100k Poole is one of the worlds greatest talents lol!
....and the only excitement this year will be the battle for 3rd and 4th
Unrealistic summer transfer wankfest III

Well I suppose that's the knighthood fucked.
If we'd approached Dortmund early on about Reus I'm sure we could have agreed a more reasonable fee. I said it at the beginning of the window, with the exchange rate being what it is, £40-50M for Reus would allow Dortmund to bring in multiple players for their new manager. They expected to sell Hummels and Gundogan, so when that didn't happen, the timing would have been ideal to ring up and say alright then, let's talk about Reus. I'm sure they had plans for the Hummels + Gundogan money. I think he'd have transformed our attack, for me he's on that level just below Messi and Ronaldo. Much better than Di Maria or Bale in my opinion. Not that it fucking matters now.Alfonso Bedoya wrote:Eh???brianofnazarethffs wrote:bman2 wrote:Dortmund were willing to sell us Reus but we passed it up apparently:

After all, what would we want with a player who offers goals and creativity.
Tbf £60 million is a piss take.
We just spent nearly £40mill for a kid many have never even heard of, who even his own handlers say has issues with dedication...

Hold on here. Some people go on talking about Klopp, his body of works is what? Peel the layers back, he started at Mainz. Led them to promotion, the UEFA Cup qualification and to relegation. He resigned. Everybody starts somewhere. SAF came from lofty heights at Aberdeen ffs. A lot of the proven winners started somewhere, but rarely finish where they started. I like what Monk has done with Swansea so far. He's an up and coming young manager, who has so far found value in the transfer market for a club of Swansea's size. He's been with the club from League 2 through to the Premier League, and a league cup win. I see something building there. Tactically he's gone toe to toe with Mourinho, LVG and Wenger without blinking. He still has more to show, but I think he's done more than just finishing fourth in the Premier League and crashing out of the Champions League the following season. He's on track for bigger opportunities. So give me a break! Holy shit, it seems the we've lost patience and forgotten how to build something.Sid wrote:Not at all, I'm just calm and not losing my shitGrandstander1 wrote:Is that some sick joke? I was referring to Monk, and even at that it would be AFTER LVG completed his spell in two or four years. I'm not into thinking the next MUFC manager has to come from Bundesliga or La Liga? Guardiola was player, retired, coached Barca B then the first team. Jose started at Setubal. Do you want to play musical managers, and give Jose, Rafa or Ancellotti their turn?Sid wrote:This madness must endGrandstander1 wrote:I know it sounds cheeky, but I agree. Watch Monk this season. If he does well with his team, and gets them across mid-table (6-10 spot), what would he do with a budget? His first signing has to be better than 27 mil£ for Fellaini. Tbf Fellaini has got some timely goals for us, but he wasn't worth that much.redzebs wrote:Pardew in, seriously. I'm being serious, him or Monk.
Also we know LVG has signed for three years, but he has hinted at staying for a couple more.http://www.manutd.com/en/News-And-Featu ... nited.aspx
Not sure how I feel about handing the reigns over to Giggs just yet. Maybe he should get off the bench and coach the reserves. LVG can observe his tactics and adjustments.
You're getting so involved and stressed and angry that you're wanting Parders to take over from Van Gaal
Just take a break, sit back, let shit happen for a bit and regain some sanity
Monk has a lot to prove he can manage United, like in the Champions League, before you give him the reigns
You go with a proven winner
Just followed that quote up a bit and what he actually said in Spanish is a bit different.dozer wrote:http://oldtraffordfaithful.com/david-de ... or-madrid/

"I do not think that De Gea is eager to continue at Manchester United, what I do believe is that Manchester will try to renew the player's contract to force a possible move and get some money for it. Also, it could be problematic if he got to the Euro's with no play time. Manchester has a trump card in his hand and David de Gea has another. I think he will end up in Real Madrid next year, and possibly need to renew with Manchester."
He has a point that both parties have a form of leverage and it's going to get complicated. Would United really hold their best goalie to ransom though? It'd seem very small time. Playing hardball with Real is one thing, but playing it with a player that has already decided to leave is another. Wouldn't put it past the brainlessness of the current operation of course...
The best thing now would to just put the arm around and say "Right David, we fucked up, but you're here until next May. Give us one more excellent season and we can all put this shambles behind us. You go to Madrid a legend, get the spain no. 1 shirt, everyone's happy."
