500-1000 quid is a lot to pay for a faulty disappointing product

The money in the Prem and the capitalist free market approach is changing football culture in Britain, it's making it worse

The Prem will be on its arse soon

That's exactly what was being discussed yesterday on talk shite. Apparently , the trend for firing managers mid season is on the decline in Spain and Italy . One of the factors being clubs struggling to make the big mid season pay offs and managing to balance the books. The trend is on the increase here.

The big clubs are so out of touch with fans now. Yet united send out birthday texts from the club and squad ffs .

No it won't... the PL is on the rise... if all goes at it looks... this time next year, the PL will have Guardiola, Mourinho, Klopp managing... the teams that have them will probably bring in even more top talent... the PL is where the money is... where as Barcelona, and Real are in trouble... they've been spending beyond their means to control the worlds best players, which is the only thing that's kept the Spanish league competitive in Europe... the German league is a farce, and the French league is even worse...

Every time we get into this argument, you think I'm boasting about the English league... I'm not, because the English league is weak, as far as the talent, and quality of football... but it is far and away the richest, most powerful, and that's going to increase, not decrease... at the moment, the best players play for Barca, Real, Bayern... 5/10 years from now, they'll all play here...

And football will be worse off it!

As long as Real Madrid crash and burn, I have no problem with it.

Next season we might have Guardiola and Mourinho coaching City and United, Klopp at Liverpool, Simeone at Chelsea, Bielsa at Swansea, if the rumours are to be believed. With even mid table clubs able to compete for fairly big name players, I think it's true, there's a good chance in 2-3 seasons that the PL will regain its quality and competitiveness in Europe.

All the more vital that United not fuck up this crucial transition phase, we could easily get ourselves cut out of the new order of things, just as Liverpool did to itself in the PL era.

Exactly why I want Mourinho (given that Guardiola is prob going to City)...
We need to compete with a top manager for top signings...we can't fuck about giving it to Giggs

It's still growing but there will come a point when the TV deals and sponsorships will plateau, and then things will change. Granted English clubs have lots of cash now, but they also have lots of debt. And many are spending based on projections, expectations, which is the capitalist way. When reality doesn't meet those expectations, when there's a freeze or a decrease on TV money, sponsorship money, then the house of cards will begin to fall. Also fans will reah a point were they refuse to be exploited to such an extent.

But you could be right, in regards to the last time we talked about this when you said we could have all or most of the top managers in the Prem. I still don't think we'll get Messi and Ronnie over here at the same time
