Beginning of last season I had high hopes for Mata but I genuinely thought he disappointed. He would disappear for long stretches in games, although he would go for 1-2 Hollywood pass that occasionally leads to assists.

I do think he did enough to deserve another chance, but if selling him can help fund a Pogba purchase then I am all for it!

By the time Mourinho is done overhauling the team, Mata will be nothing more than an expensive bench option... and considering how Mourinho rates him, how much game time would he get?

He's too expensive to just sit on the bench all season... might as well sell him for a few quid, and free up his wages...

Martinez was shit with defenders but Mourinho is very good with them. Whatshisname who's taking over Everton is good with them too though, I'd say Stones will be boss this season.

Pogba is a terrific player, but I wouldn't be surprised if part of the appeal for Mourinho is that it helps him keep out of Ferguson's shadow -- having a living embodiment of Ferguson's flaws on the pitch.
