If true, I think that's the right call by the club.
There has been stories in the press about us accepting 40m for him. That's probably the club briefing and letting the world know we're prepared to get rid.

I think it has to happen. We've not seen that world class talent for fucking ages, and his overall play is woeful. I also think he won't suit a possession team cos he likes space to run into. And according to Amorim, his attitude isn't professional anymore.

Given that the club has no money to spend, it makes sense to cash him in to fund new purchases. Being an academy player means he has zero book value.

I forgot the cunt signed a new deal in 2023. It expires in 2028. £325,000 a year according to the BBC.

I mean fucking hell that's one of the worst deals in recent times.

Unless someone can pay his wages, we're stuck with him.

Not necessarily. That'll be why they would be trying to offload him on the cheap as it means any buying club can factor in his wages as part of the entire price.

I think what Dozer is trying to say is that he knew everything all along and that everyone else has no idea. What he knows and what everyone else knows changes between posts. - Felwin 31/10/2024

Hopefully the days of handing out massive salaries like that are coming to an end.

Our recruitment should be so good that it shouldn't matter if one of our so called top players doesn't want to adhere to our wage structure.

I know this shouldn't come into it for a lot of fans, but I'll always personally feel sorry for Rashford. He's been elevated beyond his talent because the club needed the potential PR win and his decision to help children has ultimately cost him when it should've made him a bit of a legend. Since then, there's been constant online abuse that I can't help but think has got to him.

I couldn't give a flying fuck about his potential bad attitude, unprofessionalism and the like, that stuff is brushed aside when you're successful as part of what makes you great, it's referred to constantly with Rasford simply because he's not a great. Would've been a useful squaddie in any other era but the club desperately needed to hang their hat on a player and he was the constant post-Fergie and an academy graduate.

That all said, football-wise, he's simply just not been good enough. He needs the system built around him so he gets the ball in a certain area + he needs to be fit as a fiddle + needs to be fully focused and confident. Too many things need to fall into place for him to play well.

We shouldn't forget that he was an important part of the 2016 and 2024 FA Cup wins and that there were times he looked like an absolute worldbeater, but I reckon the die is cast and the general opinion is he was shit and a bit of a cunt so I realise I'll probably be in the minority.

Nah. He's never been good.
Even in that 30 goal season, his general gameplay was still shit except that he scored a lot of goals. He did this in his last year of his contract.

You should give a fuck about his attitude because he's not a successful player either (for his wages or any big club)

2 FA Cups, 2 League Cups and a Europa League.

Modern fans see the league and champo as the be-all and end-all but those medals alone make Rashford more successful than about 80% of all the players ever to play for us. The rest either played exclusively under Fergie or Busby.

I'm not going to argue that he was a great player, I won't even argue that he was a consistently good player, but he wasn't as shit as has seemingly been decided. It's just revisionism. People projecting forward the hype and then blaming the player for not living up to it. Absolute bog-standard British media shite, build em up to knock em down. We don't even see how toxic and abnormal it is to treat sportspeople like that.

Oh and by the way, he was at his old primary school today giving every kid there a christmas present. Nothing to do with the club. Not a PR exercise. Planned months back because he's just a fucking good lad. All the evidence we have for his "attitude" is media speculation and some cunts on twitter trying to claim they can read his body language. Martial got the same treatment. It all came about after Jose started routinely blaming them both for all our ills.

Apparently Rashford hinted heavily in an interview earlier that he's looking for a fresh start so it's looking nailed on that he's off. I wish him all the best. He's spent 20 years at his boyhood club, has won trophies at the top level and provided fans with memories they will cherish. When it comes down to it, that's precisely what fans should give a fuck about. But no, all modern fans give a shit about is transfers.

It's what's best for him. He doesn't seem happy here, on or off the pitch. I think getting hammered by the gov and right wing media, which encouraged a lot of racism, has possibly changed him a bit.

A move abroad might be good. Hopefully he's willing to work with us aka take a pay cut in order to leave.

It's obvious there has been something affecting his mental health. A campaign of racist hate will probably do that to you tbf.

How dare he ever try to ensure poor kids are fed.

He is something like 7 goals from being inside our all time top 10 scorers.

He's had his issues, but anyone who just comes out and says he's shit, is talking shit.
