That's what I mean with them sussing the zeitgeist. Their reasons might be more cynical, but it lines up with most fans wanting something they can hang their hat on.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑1 month ago One thing's for certain, this regime are desperate for some positive PR. They're getting hammered. Ratcliffe in particular. They'll be after the feel good factor Ole provided last time. It was magic tbf. And at least Ineos are trying. The Glazers are sat there doing fuck all but waiting for their dividends.
There have always been negative fans, even when we were on top and winning everything. But the apathy is a new phenomenon. Granted I was a kid, but even when we were shit in the 80s, there was a buzz about us. Bit of gallows humour when we had a shit season, boisterous when the football looked mint. Now virtually everyone I know in person says they watch the games because they feel they have to, not out of enjoyment. Plenty of us on here have said similar things.
Ole is a great counter to that apathy. 19+ games left this season and IMO we could lose 5-10 but as long as they aren't the sort of pathetic, catastrophic drubbings that mainly started under Rangnick and beyond, I'd be fine with it. Ole always had us up for big games so a cup run suddenly feels possible (if he's in for Brighton). It's all about healing that part of the club in the next 4 months. Then like you and Ash say, Wilcox and Berrada have that time to brainstorm and find a manager that will fit.
