So you're going to blame Ole for trying to sign 10 imaginary crap players? Right then.dozer wrote: ↑1 year agoThe real question is how many players did Ole recommend we buy and we didn't? We can cherry pick haaland but what if he recommended 10 other players who all turned out to be crap?Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑1 year ago Insightful Ole interview
The bit about recruitment is interesting. Ole says lots of people higher up, including people that have never kicked a ball, have vetos when it comes to signings, and it causes problems. They're also slow as shit, which we already knew.
Also United ignored chances to sign Haaland when he was at Molde including when his release fee was nowt. We only got interested when he started banging em in at Salzburg, by which time every other cunt wanted him.
Also, as part of Ole's contract, he had to accept that he is basically one voice among many when it comes to signings.

Problem is Dozer, Ole was not entirely to blame for the signings, and non signings. It's a group effort. That group includes lots of non footballing people who are certified fucking idiots.
So you can't lay the blame entirely at Oles door.
As part of his contract he literally had to agree to ceding power on transfers to these people including the Glazers.
I doubt it's different under Hag. But for me Hag is clearly having a bigger influence, possibly cos the people above him have even less of a clue so they're just agreeing. And Hag, whose never signed players in his life until United, is just going after the players he already managed cos he knows them well.
But equally Varane and Casemiro and United signings, not so much Hag.

It's also possible that Hag got a lot of his signings because the Glazers were already planning to sell part of the club, so it becomes even less their problem that the club has to possibly refinance to fund transfers.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑1 year ago Problem is Dozer, Ole was not entirely to blame for the signings, and non signings. Ubelievable that there are those who will use this spending to somehow exonerate them. Idiots like Rio claiming as recently as 2 years ago that they are good owners because they have "spent money". Yeah Rio, they didn't let the club spend it's own money it had generated through success, siphoning off large parts of it for themselves, then employed idiots to run transfers, then saddled the club with yet even more debt to fund the transfers becasue the clubs actual funds had run dry. They really are among the worst type of cunts. Only one rung below sportswashers.

Totally. Ole even alludes to that "they've spent money" argument in the interview. He basically says the Glazers have a big role in signing players cos "they're the ones spending the money" - yeah, the clubs money Ole, not their own. But the way he words makes out as if it's their own personal wealth they're donating to the club. Gonna be back at the wheel by the look of things, possibly even in time for Brighton at the Weekend.

It's a fucking mistake, a lot of fans wanted him out towards the end of his tenure and so I can't understand why the club would want to bring him back even as an interim.
We might as well try and be the first ever team that doesn't have a coach or a manager. Just rock up to training sessions and games and wing it. Can't be any worse than when they are being coached.

I don't mind it until the end of the season. I actually think they've sussed the zeitgeist pretty well and realised nothing about what Amorim was doing felt like United.
Get Ole in, 4-2-3-1, Casemiro is better than McT or Fred were, Mainoo and Ugarte fight over the other spot depending on oppo, Bruno at 10 pinging it in to Cunha, Sesko and Mbeumo/Amad, a normal back 4. That should be fine until the end of the season and plays to what the lads can actually do.
It's important not to be revisionist just because Oleball was more entertaining than the dross since, he obviously isn't cut out for the top, top level. But for 4 months and to get the fans on board, it's the right decision. Short term negativity might kill players and managers, but the long term apathy that's setting in kills income and the INEOS project.

Purely as interim I can see the logic. He's popular with players, he'll steady the ship emotionally, give the club some headroom to think and plan for what comes next. He knows the club etc, so his ability to just slot in will be second to none. Given the circumstances I can't think of a better interim, but I do hope he's joined by Carrick as is being mooted.
My worry is - what then? Either it goes badly, which will be hard to watch and which sets the club back further. Or it goes well and INEOS give him the job permanently, which I 100% think they'd do, and 100% think it'd be a mistake.
Strictly as interim, with a remit to get European football and then step aside, I'm ok with.

In theory we have the best in business making these decisions now. If Ole steadies the ship it should allow Berrada and Wilcox to get their heads together and come up with a plan for summer and beyond. They need to settle on an identity.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑1 month ago Purely as interim I can see the logic. I think the identity is clearer now. It was hugely controversial before, particularly under Jose. The issue was muddied by Fergie switching from attacking football to the 541 shite which he had to do, and was successful. But that took us away from playing attacking football.
I saw Nev talking clearly about what he wants; 4 at the back, attacking wingers, and an attacking mindset. I think we all want that now? Seems to be more consensus on it nowadays.
If Ole provides that then the brains trust may make him permanent. One thing's for certain, this regime are desperate for some positive PR. They're getting hammered. Ratcliffe in particular. They'll be after the feel good factor Ole provided last time. It was magic tbf. And at least Ineos are trying. The Glazers are sat there doing fuck all but waiting for their dividends.
