Thank god it's the BBC. They're reliably unreliable.
If ineos blindly does the opposite of what fans demand that's a good starting point in turning the club around and making it successful.
If fans have been demanding Xavi, it escaped me dozer…
No, but they've demanded ten toasts sacking

Sounds good to me...you reckon he'll be able to conjure up a game plan to beat Fenerbahce tonight?

No. If we get a result it will be through individual brilliance.

True. We still play like individuals.
But we've scored goals with team work recently. The Hojlund goal is a good example.

Here's what I'm putting any lingering bits of faith I have, into our future. I think INEOS have decided that Hag isn't there man. I think they probably felt that way in the summer, but in the absence of having footballing leadership at the club, decided to stick with Hag for now. The one year extension - but absence of a new contract, indicates that they wanted to create the illusion of support, but with a get-out for down the line. They clearly also know what a huge decision it is, and as soon as they put their own man at the helm, the scrutiny ramps up further. They likely reckoned that the injury crisis last season was at least part of the rationale for poor performance and that with something like a normal injury record, and better recruitment, they'd be able to give themselves this season and create a side that could push for 4th spot. And if that works or things exceed expectation, they continue with Hag. If not, they give themselves a season to plan and attract a new, longer term manager.

What I don't think they'd have expected, is for it to be this bad, this quickly. There'll likely have been no contingency plan in place to act at the last international break. But I imagine they're working on exactly that now, and assuming results don't change between now and the next break in November, they'll enact that contingency plan. Which is probably to just remove Hag and let Ruud and Hake take over for the remainder of the season. Assuming they can't get their main man in now. And most managers worth their salt won't leave their current club mid season. I do wonder whether the possibility of Xavi as an interim is something they're looking at, based on reports over the last week.

In a nutshell, Hag is toast and I think it's already been decided, and I think INEOS focus now is on how best to make sure we get the right man in for the long term, even if that means this season is write-off. I do think they'll look at best fit for an interim basis though, because every league position in the table and round of the Europa is worth seven figures.

He is gone.

It was getting to the point it was untenable keeping him. Let's see what their next move is.

Rvn in as interim, as long as we don't end up with Southgate, but it can't really get any worse than what we've seen in past 18months.

Something must have shifted in terms of interim planning, since the international break. Something in these Xavi links? Wouldn't be convinced by that at all...

Our options are all lottery tickets.
Xavi, Southgate, Xabi Alonso.

Who knows, Ancelotti might become available at the end of the season.

Ruud until the end of the season means this is surely a decision they've been forced to make. Almost certainly won't be Xavi/Southagte as they're unemployed and could start immediately. Think they're most likely lining someone up who's currently in a job... Alonso would surely be the big statement Ineos want. Whether he wants to come though is another matter,

They haven't said Ruud till end of season, have they? I think they'll just said he'll take charge on interim basis as we undertake a search for the manager. I might be wrong here, but for some reason I think there'll be a quick move. I think they have something lined up. There's something about the timing of this that's curious, happening so quickly after the last international break. Something has fallen into place in terms of a succession option, I think.
