Can't believe no one started a dedicated thread for this mercenary who only came to United for one final massive pay check.
I was watching some analysis shite on YouTube the other night and they were discussing Casemiro and the impact he's had in the team and for ETH system.
Since the beginning of October, he's top of the league for most duels won per 90 mins, United have had better possession of the ball than City, Liverpool, Spurs, Arse and we have won more possession in the final third than any of the other 'big 6'.
I'd always hated him when he was at Real because he was so fucking good and I'll be honest, I did question his appetite when he joined us but he has quickly proved me wrong. If he has an influence on the likes of Mainoo and helps him develop, even better.

I did wonder after his early performances if he was here for the pay day like so many others. But he's starting to look the business now. He's buying into Hags football.
Fully agree with you both. I was skeptical but he's starting to dominate and he clearly has the right attitude. A million miles from Pogba if we're being honest.
He's not just a tough tackler either, he plays really smart passes and keeps things flowing.

Just announced he's leaving at the end of the season when his contract expires.

He's been a good signing tbf. Just about. He started brilliantly, turned to total shit, and has now levelled off.
Probably not worth the massive outlay though. He's one of the highest earners. Might be the highest tbf.
I wonder, will the club replace him? And will they still try and oust Bruno?

Yeah that's a fair point, he's been very important at times and also very shit. Not sure the outrageous outlay was good bang for buck.... but then he was important in getting us a League Cup and FA Cup. Think he'll be fondly remembered tbf as he's box office and clearly a top pro.

When he’s been played to his profile, he’s been excellent. I.e. play him as a 6, in a reasonably compact team and with 2 other midfielders who do the play making - you know, like where he won 5 Champions Leagues at Madrid next to Kroos and Modric, and he excels. Play him as a centre back, or in a midfield pairing with gaps all around and expect him to be Kante, and he struggles. Who’d have thought?
But he seems like he, and his family, have genuinely loved it here. Not quite a legend, but definitely cemented himself as a proper fan favourite. I love the bloke and I reckon we’ll see the best of him in the next 4 months. Carrick knows how to use him, and he’ll want to go out on a high.

I would imagine he's really helped the younger players, and less confident players, with his knowledge, experience and general legendaryness.

He's a leader too. We could end up with Casemiro, Bruno and Maguire all leaving in the summer. 3 leaders....

Good point. I think Ineos look at that and think of the money saved. 3 of the biggest earners gone. I think that's the financial model now. Under the Glazers it was 'no value', then blowing 1bn and piling up debt. Now it's penny pinching.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑4 months ago He's a leader too.
