The incoming independent regulator has the power to ban English clubs from joining the ESL. This was done months ago, so perhaps they expected this verdict in the courts.
Obviously it's designed to preserve the Prem, FA, CL etc. But I imagine United, Liverpool etc would fight it cos the pot of gold that's promised with an ESL is too great leave behind.
It's gonna get messy and protracted, and probably means the Glazers are gonna hang around indefinitely if there's a chance of sucking out more profit.

United have said they're not interested in a super league. Other clubs including Bayern have said the same.
But that's what they're saying publicly, what matters is the convos behind closed doors.
I think clubs are well aware the way they sprung it on everyone last time was bad. So they're gonna try a new tact this time.

Fucking wow. This could be curtains for Madrid and Barca. They're gonna make the ESL happen on the back of this.

Barca are looking at a ban from the CL for breaching FFP. Their financial reporting is a work of fiction tbf, and these "financial levers" are bullshit.
It's hard to see how they don't go into financial meltdown. Their club is done.
They need the ESL but at this rate they'll just be playing Madrid every week.
