He knows he's not performing to a level we need to see and his confidence is on the floor.

He's a young man and we brought him in to do a job that you have to be exceptionally good at. There's no hiding place at United. He'd probably be great at another club.

Whether Hojlund and Zirkzee are good enough is one thing. But it's easy to forget that they're human beings.
He's never going to be effective under Amorim. Wrong system. Play two up front and he might have a chance.

Completely agree. Easy to forget he's still basically a kid too.

Really don't know where we go from here. We'd take a big hit selling him and that matters right now with PSR and cash being so tight. But there is virtually no justification to keep picking him. Maybe he goes on loan next year to get some confidence?

A reason to keep Hojlund would be that realistically we're only going to sign one striker in summer, and that poor cunt will be in the same position Hojlund is in now of being under massive pressure to score and work out as our CF if there's no one else.

They'll also be joining a shit team that's got everything to learn in terms putting attacking moves together. If we were even half decent up front, being the only CF at the club would be easier. But right now we're utter shite, so it's one of the hardest jobs in football IMO. I don't envy any cunt taking it on.

I think Chido is still too much of a kid to be relied upon. We also can't ruin him by playing him too much.

Playing as a lone striker for a club like United, as a 21 year old - you need to be a generational talent like Rooney. He's on a hiding to nothing.

Yes. Centre forwards are rare breeds now.
I'd sell Hojlund if a club is willing to pay decent money for him otherwise there are plenty of other players we need to get rid of first.

Maybe this should be in other teams stuff, or maybe we need one for former players, but hojlund scored a pretty nice goal on his debut for Napoli, its a cert he kicks on and does great for them ala Mct isn't it.

Maybe a case of prem defenders being that bit faster and stronger, as well as us not playing to his strengths?

It was obvious he needed these balls, but he spend most of last season wrestling with cbs.

Also Garnacho lost his man in last minute to cost Chelsea the qin, so that was nice to see!

I was watching that when he scored. It's a proper CFs goal. The run in behind, pace, strength and finish. Didn't think he had it in him. It helps being fed by De Bruyne and McT but still, he did it make many of those runs for us. Makes you what the fuck Amorim and Hag were asking him to do at United.

The goal was very similar to one of his first goals for us where he ran through, palmed off a defender and stuck it in the corner.

We all know there's a player in there and as usual, he won't be the first that we somehow contrived to ruin. How well Sesko does will give us an idea of how much Amorim had to do with Hojlund's poor form last season. And of course if Hojlund scores 25 and fires Napoli to a title.

Hojlund was trash for us and he was poor under Ten Hag as well.
He was setup to fail but he didn't show any talent as a striker.
At least Sesko seems to get at the end of balls. He is at the very least present in the frame when there is an attacking cross.
Hojlund would often be the only player missing completely from the area.
He might do well, and I hope he does, because I like Hojlund, he never gave up but he had to go.

This "let's keep the trash for a decade lest they do well elsewhere" mindset is what got us into the mire in the first place. Shaw is still playing for us.
Many here thought he was "world class" when fit - no, he was mediocre to crap.

Two things can be true at the same time. Hojlund can be shit for us but also categorically failed by us. This is true for at least 10 players in the last decade and there's an argument for saying it's true for all of them tbf.
