Ratcliffe, INEOS and the future
I decided to watch the full interview - I'd initially not bothered because he got his numbers very wrong.
I don't know anything about immigration in the UK but his primary complaint seems to be about immigrants that are on benefits - by which I assume that they're getting paid by the govt and not working. It didn't seem like he was against all immigrants. On the face of it, his take seems reasonable. I'm sure it's more complicated than that but what's the argument for funding non citizens with job seekers allowances or whatever? It's a genuine question because I don't know. Why he called that colonisation is perplexing.
I don't know if his other facts or insinuations apart from the population numbers and colonisation comments are also terribly off. Perhaps his comments about benefits are also similarly exaggerated? Idk.

The club has put out a statement distancing itself from Ratcliffe's comments.

I think a lot of the outrage is maybe down to cultural cues unique to the UK. Ratcliffe is a type that we all know and most of us dislike. You can sum it up as "selfish cunt who discounts the role the welfare state played in his success, whilst having a hard on for Thatcher and anything Thatcher-adjacent". He has all the wealth he could ever dream of for these issues to be immaterial to him, yet feels the need to pipe up and lecture us all whilst being a registered citizen of a completely different country.dozer wrote: ↑4 months ago

The immigration stuff is interesting as plenty may agree with his sentiment, but it's the same old shit we hear over and over regarding the inflation of stats and deflation of the benefits of immigration. No-one can have an honest conversation about it so it just becomes shit slinging. The UK media have been banging on about immigration for at least 50 years now and it has simply massively warped people's views on it. Your average punter thinks there are hundreds of thousands arriving a month and being put up in 5-star resorts. Ratty was echoing this nonsense.
Why is he even talking about this shit in the first place?
Did he not think who he was representing when he sat down for the interview?
He's such a dumb cunt
And if you're a player, you're not going to think about the intricacies of a debate on immigration. You're just going to think Ratcliffe doesn't like foreigners full stop. Not an unreasonable assumption to make, given the shit he came out with.

United have posted an operating profit of £32.6m for the six months to 31 December 2025.
However, United also drew down an additional £25m on their rolling credit facility, which now stands at £295.7m.
Having a decent chunk of profit is massive. Maintaining it is the next thing. Also paying down some of the debt that's owed, and stopping the reliance on the credit card.

Even more impressive then you consider we didnt have any European income. Hopefully we can get a hold of the finances, and turn the ship around on that front.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑3 months ago United have posted an operating profit of £32.6m for the six months to 31 December 2025.

Private equity bros learning running a football club is hard, shocker
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/ar ... rxjyk54zpo
Chelsea are a medium sized club with a 41k capacity ground, which by todays standards is pretty small. But they've spent like they're Real Madrid - not just on players, but running costs and staffing costs which have increased beyond the size of the club.
They haven't had a permanent front of shirt sponsor for 3 years meaning they've lost out on hundreds of millions. And the sponsors they were talking to included a mega dodgy business that had no money, and a betting firm, which is stupid cos there's a ban on front of shirt betting firms.
The equity Bros are not serious players. They're twitter transfer obsessives who think football money is monopoly money.
