Oh no... That would mean United were owned by the Saudis gov.

Turki is the bloke that has bought all of the biggest fights, and is setting up a boxing league to make Matchroom, Queensbury etc redundant. It's basically buying boxing the same way they did golf and dissolving the powers that be in the process.

He works for the Saudi gov but they'll say it's his individual wealth. But there's no such thing if you're rich in Saudi; you're under the auspice of the state.

I would hope Ratcliffe stays on if Turki is gonna be involved.

Aren't United supposed to disclose any interest since they are a publicly listed company? Within what time, I don't know.

I don't know US securities law, but I would have thought that they only have to tell the New York stock exchange if there's been a firm approach to buy the club with money on the table.

That wouldn't include an informal enquiry to see if the club is up for sale in the first place.

That's my guess.

That's worrying tbf cos the Athletic are reliable. Also Turki wouldn't just make stuff up out of the blue. So it does seem like moves are being made in the background.

Also worrying, the UAE are on that list of potential interested parties. What the fuck.
