Agreed, we won't get every single transfer or managerial appointment right, but the structure in the background seems to be getting there. It really is as simple as making decisions based on the football, not on some gut feeling from a merchant banker.sheesh wrote: ↑3 months agoIt's great having actual football people in charge, watching training and working with the manager to a plan.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑3 months agoHe always talks sense, it's just actioning it and creating observable change
Have to say I love how they're all coming out and doing press cos we've won 3 in a row lol
Sounds pretty basic, but we missed that for so many years.

It's just fucking appalling that Man United was run in this way. Any club tbf, but especially a huge club on which a lot depends. Obviously a global community, but speaking in their language; broadcast revenues, massive sponsorships etc. Where are the controls to stop this from happening. Fit and proper persons means less than ever.Felwin wrote: ↑3 months agoAgreed, we won't get every single transfer or managerial appointment right, but the structure in the background seems to be getting there. We've added to the debt pile funding Amorim's shit football. The football has to become un-shit or else nothing has changed under Ineos after nearly 2 years; shit managers, shit football, loads of debt, loads of money leaving the club.
I know this is well trodden ground but it's worth reminding everyone.
That's £481m in GLAZER debt transferred onto the club.
£1bn paid out of the club to lenders in servicing GLAZER debt
And another £1.3bn racked up - 95% under the GLAZERS because they are clueless strategists.
Getting on for £3bn pissed up the wall, half to literally no avail, the other half due to utter incompetence
I really don't want to sound like I'm playing the victim as fans of other clubs are obviously delighted with the majority of the last 20 years, but it is a genuine crime against football. I could accept us being shit, but the takeover and subsequent Glazer management is negligence on a par with any of those other cunt owners in the football league like the Blackpool bloke, Bury, Fleetwood etc. Obviously as small fry, they get sympathy, but due to the way rivalry works, it's ok that we've been gutted as an institution.
INEOS have essentially challenged themselves to win a race, but they're starting several laps behind and in a car with a battered engine. No way we're winning the league within 3 years. It'll be 30 before we're on a stable footing, if ever again.

There's also the issue of the neglected physical assets like the stadium and Carrington. Obviously we need to finance a new ground cos Old Trafford is too far gone. That's another 2/3bn. A lot of the finance guys say it's fine, don't worry, debt isn't always bad. But it never works out that way, they're generally wrong, like they were when they initially welcomed US finance via the Glazers into the Prem.
If you take a step back and look at the bigger picture, the club is going to have masses of debt - by far the biggest in football - some of it long term, some medium term, some urgent like 200m of transfers they still haven't paid for. The club barely makes a profit. Even with new revenue from the new stadium, it'll get eaten up.
Where the fuck do we go from here, lads?
Another season written off. Ratty is surely going to start chopping more heads in the coming months like he did at Nice. Outside chance he gives up on the whole venture if we don't get the next appointment right.

Fuck knows where we go from here tbh. Feels like we've tried everything.
Ultimately the Glazers nees to go, they need to pay off debts and make the club profitable, and also build the new stadium for new revenue.
