Unfortunately he wasn't one of our post-Fergie managers who got asked for a list of his own personal favourite players, so I reckon the chances are slim. The 5 first-teamers we signed with him as manager were mostly picks from above him.

Maybe he'll take Ugarte though as he managed him at Sporting too and Italy might be a good league for him. Maybe Zirkzee too who has plenty of admirers there.

We could really do with Ugarte having a decent World Cup so that we can get a good fee for him.

Interested to see how he gets on. I knew almost nothing about him when he was appointed at our place and couldn’t take to him. He baffled me and I’d never seen a manager as stubborn and delusional as him, I’m curious to see if he’s that wed to a system at AC like he was here. The Italians aren’t particularly well known for patience and teams go through managers at an alarming rate.

If the Milan board are gonna back him and start ripping up the team they're fucking idiots. Modric won't buy Rubens 57 passing routine bullshit and Amorim will be under pressure by Christmas.

Also just seen we play them on the 15th. Can't fucking wait for that!

Yeah it'd be great to batter Milan and then hear Ruben justify it saying that his team have to first see hell to get to heaven or some other psychobabble.

No way Milan show him the patience we did. If he has a bad start, he'll be gone in the November international break

Genuinely hope we stick 6 or 7 past his team even if it is a meaningless friendly. I couldn’t stand the man and wanted him out immediately. The talk of “we could go down” was horrific for this club, the Bilbao final and then Grimsby and what became of the start of last year. I’ve never disliked a manager quite like I disliked this bloke.

I wanted to give him more time than most because he was fairly right near the beginning. We were shit, were saddled with overpaid shite, needed an overhaul and a proper sense of direction and to be fair to Amorim, he gave us some of that.

I also wanted to give his system a fair crack at the whip because fuck knows where football will go. Something unorthodox might become the new thing and we were so bereft of a way of playing, it felt like time to invest in something like that. It became painfully obvious towards the Bilbao game though that we needed about 5 world class players to ever stand a chance. Too much strain on a couple of positions. And then when Amorim was quizzed on it, he got all arsey and refused to admit the flaws in his approach.

Grimsby was the turning point, aye. There his behaviour went from a bit annoying to borderline pathetic. Result aside which was as much the players fault as his, hiding in the dugout during the shootout and then basically asking to be sacked was the worst I've felt about any United manager. Worse than Jose saying Sevilla have more heritage than us and worse than Moyes saying we have to strive to become as good as City (at a time when we were reigning champions and before their cheating had brought them onto another level).

Seeing history potentially repeating at Milan makes it all the more clear how dense Berrada was to get Amorim in. We can't forget that, even if we become half decent in the next few years and Berrada is getting his flowers for being part of it. He wasted millions and nearly got us relegated and if we believe the reporting, we'd still have kept Amorim until the end of the.season if he hadn't directly criticised his superiors to the press.
