No thread about this kid, so I'm starting one. I've got big hopes for him, I was livid with EtH for playing Antony ahead of him.
He's a fighter on the pitch, and considering his development, I'm betting he's strong mentally off it too. He's got the goods technically, look at the variety of his flicks, close control, quality of his shooting. He's also very creative and thinks fast.
And he's already proven to be able to rise to the occasion, almost every time he has got the chance, I think Amorim could be a good coach for him, but have no idea what he's like with young players. I like him in the position he played in against City, hope he stays fit and injury free and keeps his head down.

Yeah it's bad that Hag overlooked him. He's got shit loads of quality including the best close control at the club. He's also clever and crafty - and actually delivers.
Definitely our best player right now. We can't allow him to go the same way as Rashford and Garnacho.

Think we've been burnt so much in the last few years that I'm still cautious about Amad. It feels like the game is moving away from nippy little players, but if he can be successful in spite of that, then fair fucking play to him.
His technique is fantastic, he moves like Best, Maradona, Messi, all those half-pint dribbling greats, jinking between players with his gluey feet and burning away from them. I know he's scored 2 massive goals in the last 6 months or so + he's currently on a hot streak, but let's see if he can keep it up now.
If he's scoring and assisting every other game or so between now and May, we have a serious talent on our hands.

I love how intelligent he is. Even against Arsenal, he made a pass to Zirkzee right at the end that he almost scored from. And today, his 1-2 with Eriksen showed 2 smart players linking up. I hate the kind of morons we have had in our team the past decade, no wonder we play such crap football. Can't wait to get rid of the likes of Antony
Antony isn't the dumbest player tbf. He lacks the quality so he must go.kramer wrote: ↑1 year ago I love how intelligent he is. But I agree. I keep whining about the lack of football IQ and Amad clearly is very good at reading the game.

Agree. Antony is actually smart off the ball, finds space, tracks runners. He would've taken that chance in his first few months at the club. Been a vicious downward spiral of him not being good enough, losing confidence, getting even worse and now there's no point keeping him if he can't score a tap in.
Already seeing him get ganged up on by 3-4 players. Need to find a way to use that to our advantage. They seemed to be trying to switch it left against Rangers but I think we need Mazraoui as the RCB to proper support Amad. We'll see what Amorim does against Fulham, can't play Maguire if we want to impose ourselves on the game.
