Commentator cunts
In the absence of anything worth watching on the pitch, can we at least slag off all the commentators who deserve it (and maybe praise any that don't)?

They're desperate to big up the PL.
The whole game is a rotten shit show now. I almost feel dirty watching it. There's nothing about the game at the top level, or about this club, that connects with what I fell in love with.
And the whole media circus around it fucks me off. It's just inane drivel for the most part.

Peter Drury is the worst cos he makes every incident no matter how minor to be a major historical event. He typifies modern commentary which is desperate to convince us 'every moment matters' - even when you're 14th and your seaon is finished,JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑10 months ago They're desperate to big up the PL.

It's really apparent broadcasters are under financial pressure to retain subscribers cos of global financial turmoil, interest rates, inflation etc. Also cos many of their customers have got a lot poorer in the last 2/3 years, at the same time they've made football really expensive to watch at the ground and on TV.
Peter Drury giving it the "fairytale" shite about Saudi-upon-tyne n all. It's downright offensive. They'll accept anybody that flashes a pound note even if they destroy the game by cheating and thus fans drifting away, or via the courts in relentless legal battles to ultimately destroy the few legal protections the game has.
I'm much like you, finding it hard to give a fuck. Wait til the grounds are mostly full of wealthy tourists, states are competiting for major honours and it costs 90 quid a month to hear Peter Drury's fucking waffle on Sky.
I don't know if it's just me but I don't think I actually listen to a word of what any of these commentators say during real time gameplay.
I do notice the pitch and tone so if they're excited, like yelling before a shot then that's something I notice. What they say, I have no idea. My brain has been shutting them off, since always I guess.
I do listen to them during stoppages or replays during the game.
I'm lucky I guess.

The other thing with Drury that gets on my tits is how he really winds up the emphasis on someone about to shoot - every time they shoot, like its about to be goal of the season. And then its a shit shot and he sounds like a right twat.
Are we including co-comms and the studio lads? If so, Savage and Scholes are on my hate list.
Savage is a dumb fucker who regularly talks out of his arse and refuses to acknowledge when he's wrong. Lost count of the amount of times you hear him go "oooooooohh" because a challenge looked dirty, then watch the replay where it was clean for all to see and he just says "well, for me it was still a booking/red", like he refuses to accept reality.
As for Scholesy. Such a shame as he was absolutely class on the pitch. Used to love the fact he kept his gob shut and just let the football do the talking but now he's one of the biggest gobshites going. Always miserable and never constructive like Keano, just moans for the sake of it.

Absolutely! co-commentators/pundits are all on topic as far as i'm concerned.Felwin wrote: ↑10 months ago Are we including co-comms and the studio lads? If so, Savage and Scholes are on my hate list.

I don't like Savage but i have to admit i've sort of grown used to him and generally (like dozer) tune him out unless he says something particularly egregious. I fucking hated hearing Jenas rattle on before he got his just deserts - It's a close call i know but i don't think i've ever heard anyone spout so much bollocks during a football match. The only pundit I regularly hear and appreciate is Lee Dixon, really. Most of the rest can fuck off.
I do appreciate Keano but he does like to live up to being pantomime villain. The pundit who most gets on my tits is Micah Richards by a fucking country mile. What an absolute cunt! This has nothing to do with the fact he played for City. He's just a mouthy, irritating, use too many words (more than zero) to say fuck all cunt.

Yeah I fucking hate Robbie Savage as well. 606 could and should be good tbf. It should be a proper football call/answer show that's fun, insightful, a place to learn and vent. But it's mostly nonsense. They find fans that are slightly more stupid than Savage so he can take the piss out them. It's mad in an era of constant football chat, with shitloads of football related podcasts, videos, fan cames etc the BBCs offering is stupid.

Totally. Scholes is boring as fuck. Offers nothing new, just "where's the passion". Such a fucking miserable cunt as well, fuck me. Smile you cunt.Felwin wrote: ↑10 months ago Are we including co-comms and the studio lads? If so, Savage and Scholes are on my hate list.

Controversial, but I don't mind Neville. I know he gets flak but he's more insightful than the others and thinks critically. His latest thing about being utterly fucking sick of Pep inspired robotic systems football is spot on. He's hard on United to prove he's not biased - and cos he's emotionally invested like the rest of us. But I think he tries harder than the others. Like Jamie fucking Redknapp who has never said anything interesting.
