I think he could become a good player.
He's at least solid in defence for a full back and he makes some excellent offensive runs.
He's also quick, strong and uses his body well.
His ball control and passing/crossing needs a lot of improvement.
His IQ isn't bad either.
He's only 20 so hopefully we have a player.
Tbf if he stays fit, then that alone will make him our best left back post Fergie.

How's his IQ, Dozer?
Looks like a simple lad to me

The problem with the likes of Dorgu, is that being a promising but raw 20 year old, he'll need to go through the bumps and bruises of 2-3 years development to fulfill his potential. Doing that in the glare of a shite Man United, is a beast of a task and might be a very limiting factor. Its why clubs like Brighton are ideal for players like this.
This is my take too. It's why we can't think United can act like Brighton in the transfer market. Raw players are cheaper but they need to develop much quicker with us and we will always be a destination, not a stepping stone.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑9 months ago The problem with the likes of Dorgu, is that being a promising but raw 20 year old, he'll need to go through the bumps and bruises of 2-3 years development to fulfill his potential. I like Dorgu too because he's all over the place and doesn't seem to tire. He won't get bullied and he at least tries stuff unlike the shrinking violets we've had at times. IQ wise though Dozer is dead wrong, he consistently makes the wrong decision on the ball. That can be coached out of him, but the best players have it instinctively.
His understanding with Amad was class last night btw, it made us threatening on both sides instead of just wherever Bruno pops up. I imagine that could be how Amorim will prefer to set up up on the right going forward. Dorgu taking men away from Amad and putting him 1v1 where he excels.

Well said. And how many promising players have actually made it at United? We ruin players and give them mental health issues.JoelfuckingGlazer wrote: ↑9 months ago The problem with the likes of Dorgu, is that being a promising but raw 20 year old, he'll need to go through the bumps and bruises of 2-3 years development to fulfill his potential. I don't think his IQ is bad, it's not great either.
In general gameplay when he's not under pressure, he doesn't fuck up simple decisions, at least not often. He's got that.
Garnacho and Rashford don't have that.

Agreed. His engine, physicality and robustness are serious weapons. He needs a good first time cross into the box, and improved decision making - that I'm sure will come with time. Considering the massive step up into a harder league with enormous pressure, his start has been very promising.
I think he'll only remain average at best now. He can be a decent backup option but I don't think he'll be a top top player. He's terrible at crosses or even simple attacking passes.

He's a long way short. He's basically Kieran Richardson in terms of profile, positions and ability level. But he's a nailed on starter in a key position. Represents how far we've dropped.
