This, believe it or not, is an AI song. Everything about it was computer generated.
The band is called Velvet Sundown and had many people fooled for quite a while. They actually have two full albums on Spotify.
Swamps, what do you make of this?

Really shite music imho.
The level of their followers on Spotify just confirms how many people wouldn't know good music if it stood up and slapped them in the face...

Got the domain I wanted too. Didn't expect it to be available, but it was.
Not sure Sid was asking if you liked the music or not. There's a much bigger issue involved than that, i.e. the fact that people will apparently follow music that has no human input and that, whether you like it or not, AI can now create something that is "acceptably" music. Quite a few muso youtubers showed how this stuff can be fairly easily discerned as AI generated (see Rick Beato for instance) but, ultimately, this just goes to show that a generation of people brought up on largely heavily processed bollocks now can be easily fooled.swampash wrote: ↑6 months agoNot a lot.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑7 months ago This, believe it or not, is an AI song. Totally. The production of it is impressive. You can hear what sounds like imperfections. You can hear the vocalists breath and other details.FuB wrote: ↑6 months agoNot sure Sid was asking if you liked the music or not. And yeah, the fact digital music is now default means the switch to AI music is not as clear. I would imagine musicians are using AI to generate solos, string sections, brass sections etc on songs already so they don't have to pay session musicians. Maybe even full songs tbf. I know it's already devastating parts of the art world, particularly graphic design. Why pay someone when AI can do it.

AI is brilliant and has the ability to transform our lives for the better. But under capitalism it's being used to make people unemployed in order to save money / drive profit.

Need to also add it's being used by states to kill people. The Israeli army are using it to aid their genocide. They said AI is more accurate at finding Hamas targets but weirdly it keeps bombing children.
It's the two things I mentioned earlier; all technological developments are used to kill people and make money.

Sorry not to get back to this thread before now... i've actually been working a lot on an AI-driven system but more on that another day.Fuck the Glazers wrote: ↑6 months ago AI is brilliant and has the ability to transform our lives for the better. Is it fair to draw parallels to the agricultural revolutions, industrial revolution and, in fact, the last round of computerisation/robotics that put people out of work? Notwithstanding the imminent pain that's here (and more coming), in the end future generations start finding new roles and opportunities. This of course doesn't help those at risk of losing employment.
As for war... well, it's not really a surprise to find warfare at the forefront of technological advancement. It's shit that people are so keen to use better and better technology to kill more and more people. In the end, though, this is the underlying concern with AI. It's not the AI that's the issue (at least not presently), it's the human beings using it.
