Anyway, I can't be the only who thinks we should get rid of it, surely.

I miss the days when the referee fucked up. Now the technology has taken the fun out of the game and the assistants still make questionable decisions.

I've pretty much been against it since day dot. I hate it.

Goal line technology, fine.
Automated offside, I can maybe get on board with, but even then its a fucking ref deciding which frame to use for when the ball is played, and miniscule differences. Where its not obvious offside dont give it.

But there's way too much money involved now, and its a way for them to in theory ensure they get more right than wrong. Not realising that by getting the "right" decision is slowly killing what joy there is left in the game. Will become a sterile soulless event with the path its heading.

Also called it from the start, matter of time before ads come in during var checks.

I can hear all sides of the argument tbh. If we had VAR, we would have another title cos Drogba would have been called offside. It's not fair on the players who've grafted to lose it to a shit decision. It's not fair on the fans either.

But then it's truly shit when you stop yourself fully cheering a goal cos you think it might be disallowed. That has the potential to seriously harm football cos it stops you investing in it, and if we don't invest it emotionally then they have no audience. This plus ticket price increases, TV sub increases etc are already turning people away.

Accuracy of decisions has increased (92% -> 98%) at the cost of 4 mins and 10s on average. However 13 mistakes made this season. Too much of what makes football great is lost for a small uptick in accuracy. I would only keep it if it's scope was reduced and decisions sped up.

I think the problem with VAR, is that the spirit of avoiding clear and obvious errors has been obfuscated into a quest for perfection. Its killing the joy of the game.

How is this calculated? Are the decisions which agree with on field refs decision also included?

I saw that. It hit the players hand IMO. It glanced his hand as well as his head. I've seen endless replays and stills.

It's one of those that people will debate endlessly. But I don't think there's a conspiracy to make Celtic win the league. They're always being hammered and banned by the authorities right up to the gov for chanting, bringing pyro, talking about the British genocide in Ireland and holding Palestian flags, god forbid.

It's one of those that people will debate endlessly. But I don't think there's a conspiracy to make Celtic win the league. It hit his hand but it wasn't a penalty. At first I wondered why his hand was in that odd position. I realised that the hearts player hand his hand raised sideways to jump but the celtic player jumping up pushed his hand up with his shoulders.

It was an accidental handball. It wasn't one of the worse VAR decisions though. It's a mistake IMO but I can see why the simple minded refs concluded it was a foul quickly without taking more time to look at things.
