Fence-sitter Andy Mitten, and Romano along with Simon Stone all report our interest in Tchouameni. It's legit, not just agent shite.
Romano believes we're only looking at top quality established players for midfield. That's a sensible move.

Wondering what people think about signing Hayden Hackney? Not seen him mentioned so much recently, but I think he's a good shout if we go for 3 midfielders. He's a deep lying playmaker type. Championship player of the year and there is a higher success rate from players transitioning from the Championship than most European leagues. He has the Carrick connection. He will be affordable.
We have seen quite clearly from Liverpool that spending big is not the same as spending smart. Rather than pay a premium for players such as Wharton/Baleba, I would go for one first team/Marquee player such as Tchouameni. Then Mathias Fernandes / Hayden Hackney. I would be well happy with that midfield and crucially would leave funds to stengthen other positions

I like Hackney but the big question mark would be if he could step up to playing in the Prem and with the pressure of playing for United. If Middlesborough go up, then they might not sell him. I'd defo take him if he was £30m and was part of a trio of midfielders coming in, the other two being Joao Gomes and one of Fernandes/Baleba. The latter two will be big money.
Can't see Real wanting to sell and if they did, they always find a way of bending us over and we'd end up paying well over £100m.
Heard De Zerbi saying he's gonna ask the Spurs board to sign Greenwood. That'd be an interesting one, how Mason fares back in England.

I think Fernandes will cost around £65M, especially if they get relegated as looks likely.fat maradona wrote: ↑1 month ago Fernandes/Baleba. The latter two will be big money.

I am expecting Rodri (who flirted with them and hasn't signed a new contract) to join Madrid and Tchouameni to fund it. £115-25M being quoted for Anderson, so I think any margquee/top drawer midfielder will cost £90M minimum.
Didn't he have to clarify himself before/upon appointment to the Spurs fans over his prior endorsement of Greenwood because they were kicking off? Would be mad that they didn't want him initially due to Greenwood ties/his previous comments and then he tries to sign him.fat maradona wrote: ↑1 month ago I like Hackney but the big question mark would be if he could step up to playing in the Prem and with the pressure of playing for United. If Boro get promoted and he looks the bollocks in the Prem, he'll cost a lot more than 30m. Might be worth a punt now.fat maradona wrote: ↑1 month ago I like Hackney but the big question mark would be if he could step up to playing in the Prem and with the pressure of playing for United. Obviously the fact he's not Prem proven might put Berrada and co off but the quality of the Prem has dropped this season so it might not be an issue. Spurs or West Ham are gonna be a Championship team next season. The quality of the Championship has arguably improved too.

Joao Gomes off to Athletico according to Romano. Which is a fucking shame as I’d have loved to have him at United.
Should be a no-brainer signing for us. Great value for money in an area we’re desperate for multiple signings.fat maradona wrote: ↑1 month ago Joao Gomes off to Athletico according to Romano. Which is a fucking shame as I’d have loved to have him at United.
