Lammens is 23. He's ready now.
I'd start him in the next game.

How do you know he's ready now? Because he's 23? That's young for a keeper.

I've no idea whether he's ready. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's on the bench against City and Chelsea. Its a hell of a situation to throw a young and inexperienced keeper into, especially one that's new to the league, the country etc. He has 1 single season of first choice football behind him. Before that, he was second to Simon Mignolet. He's not at all in the Belgian squad. He may be a promising young keeper, but being ready for throwing straight into a struggling United team, with huge scrutiny on the shite keepers we already have, is a big, big risk.

100% agree. Let's not break another player by calling them the messiah and throwing them to the wolves.

BREAKING: Trabzonspor reach verbal agreement with Manchester United to sign André Onana on loan.

Club to club verbal agreement in place and final decision now up to Onana.

It’s only up to the goalkeeper. 🇹🇷

He's gone. As with many of our signings, no ill will. Yet another player who probably wasn't good enough, but was also set up to fail.

Let's hope Lammens isn't the next one who becomes a flappy mess.

The goalkeeping situation is horrendous tbh. One of the most mismanaged parts of the team. Two really shit keepers.

And now we're relying on a young keeper that's only had 1 full season. He could easily be ruined.

I think we should stick with Bayindir until he makes too many horrendous fuck ups (they're coming), and then introduce Lammens.

Fuck me, there's no right decision is there.

Playing Bayindir just means surrendering goals and terrifying the defence. We almost have to throw Lammens in, take the relatively small financial hit if we ruin him and hope for the best.

We've got some genuine quality in Cunha and Mbeumo this window and financially we've basically swapped Hojlund for Sesko so that should be an improvement. But the fact we neglected CM and GK is absolutely criminal and could not only derail any progress this season, but probably get Amorim sacked.

Yet again our fortunes rest on 1-2 players.

4 of our next 5 games are against City, Chelsea, Brentford (away) and Liverpool.

There's no easy choice, but I'd stick with Bayindir at the moment. At least until we get through those games.

Ddg was a teenager when he was the main GK. That's what this job entails. Lammens is 23.
He's going to fuck up, but he'll probably get some rope because Onana has been that bad.

I think what Dozer is trying to say is that he knew everything all along and that everyone else has no idea. What he knows and what everyone else knows changes between posts. - Felwin 31/10/2024
