Re: The accusation that their sales are dodgy, I'm not so sure. They manage to get very high fees for their academy players but we tend to forget about the many sales or frees that they have moved on also:

Free Transfers:

De Bruyne
B Silva
Gundogan
J Stones
Aguero
Fernandinho
D Silva
Kompany

Cancelo £21M
Laporte £23.5M
Ederson & Ake £17M combined
Kalvin Phillips £45M
G Jesus £45M
Sterling £47.5M
So this proves what? That not all their sales are dodgy?

off shore accounts/under hand deals 100% involved in alot of their deals, just the paper trails are next to impossible to prove it

Yep. That's how they do it. Like the Mafia, they make sure there's blood on your hands too to stop you squealing.

We know with high certainty that they have cheated extensively.

I'm simply pointing out that fans now assume that everything they do is cheating, and then cherry pick some of their transfers as evidence. When you look at their sales in totality, for every one that seems implausibly high there is another that is way under the market rate.

Fuck me. Our first panic buy.
Baleba's going to be an utter disaster. Why are we paying premium fees for a flop?

£65m for a Premier League player seems low when you see what Tonali, Fernandes, Anderson etc have gone for and what is being quoted for Enzo Fernandez.

I don’t know a lot about Baleba, but he seems highly rated by us. My concern is he’s injured, I know it’s not a serious or long-term injury he’s got but I hope we don’t just rush it through and ensure he’s ready and not likely to collapse within weeks.

His injury could be serious. Didn't we pull out of the Ederson bid citing injury concerns? We weren't concerned about Maz, Mount and De Ligt's injury records when we signed them.
Unlike the other players Baleba has been garbage last season so his fee is pricey - why should we even sign him for free?
How is he more expensive than Santos who's been decent for Chelsea? Brighton have rejected the bid btw.

Its hardly a panic buy, we've been after him for a year. There's risk as with all transfers but if the club are confident on his injury position, and believe that his dip in form last season was because his head was turned by United's interest, then so be it. Only time will tell.

How is this a panic buy when we have been following him for 12 months+ ?

Hopefully it’s the first of a few more before the window closes. We need a couple of defenders too. If we get Baleba and a couple of defenders, I’ll be happy with this window.
