A brief introduction.

I was a Utd fan as a kid in the 80's. I remember being in tears when Kevin Moran (?) got sent off in the 85 cup final followed by ecstacy with Whitesides iconic curled finish.
As a teen I got into following my dad's and home town team (Bolton) with my mates, but always rooted for Utd aside from when we played during the Allardyce years.
At some point I realised that following Bolton brought me no joy and that by and large the fans are miserable gits.

I was recently diagnosed with Autism almost aged 50! and tend to get very obsessed and intensely consumed by my interests.
Something about Ten Hag taking over piqued my interest, and I've been following very closely since. I'm a big fan of Amorim - and believe the good times are coming!

I also bet on football professionally.
might not have landed on the right forum then... :))

Welcome! I knew there was something to your username. Moses, Mühren, Robson, Wilkins... remember when we had fucking proper midfielders. That Whiteside goal is possibly the earliest fully formed memory I have of United too and I'm 50 next year so we're kindred spirits in that respect. And you're right, it was Moran who was sent off. Those scousers thought they'd basically won it with that red, but up stepped Norman.

Spending all that time watching Bolton though... nobody's perfect I guess :D

It coincided with the "glory" years. Regularly bloodying the noses of the big teams has it's charms. There were some good players too: Djorkaeff, Anelka, Gudjohnsen, Hierro etc

Jay-Jay Okocha was my favourite. I remember saying to a mate at the time that we should've signed him instead of "this Ronaldo". Probably about 5 minutes before Ronaldo became unplayable, knowing my luck.

Make your predictions on the matchday threads. You should be beating everyone here comfortably.

Yes, a true entertainer and awesome on his day but had the tendency to go missing for large periods of matches. Not sure if he was elite in that sense.

I follow algorithms I created covering 111 leagues, I will be no better than anyone else on individual game predictions
Rather than "predicting" a result, when I bet I'm saying when these criteria are met, the odds are usually inaccurate.
Eg One classic algorithm is betting on the home team when they have not won in 8 or more games.

Gambler's fallacy. The amount of accumulators I've ruined thinking some random League 1 team will finally win away simply because they haven't in 7 months. I was once seconds from winning £3k but Peterborough equalised against Barnsley in the 96th minute. Apart from that only ever won sub £200 accumulators.

Welcome. That autism diagnosis must have given you a lot of answers about your life. Hopefully you don't hyper fixate on United though, given that we're shite and all.
