The only stat that Roberto Mancini or Sir Alex Ferguson will care about on Monday night is which team scores the most goals. But we couldn’t leave it there, so here’s another 25 data points for your visual pleasure…

Great article, very interesting.
Confirms the accepted belief that defending has been our weakness this season.
Would be good to see the stats in the second half of the season. Have a feeling they would be more favourable.
I reckon if Vidic and Cleverley had been fit for the campaign we would have seen significant improvements in defensive errors, aerial 50-50s and loss of possession.
It’s been the rotation of the back 4, the bedding in of De Gea and poor midfield possession before Scholes came back which has done the most damage.
I said this at the beginning of the season, that there are too many inexperienced youngsters in the defence including the goalkeeper. If Man City go on to win the EPL, I will not be angry or disappointed because SAF has finally realised that he has to buy class players in these key positions to compete with Man City and to advance in the Champions league. SAF would have learned from this as he stated yesterday, and we will have a very potent team come next season. You will see a different United with a purpose. For this, I will give SAF another season and after that, we can bring in Pepe Guardiola in 2014.
I know you all hate Man.City but I hate no one. They had been the best team all season but we dug deep and got in front of them and then blew it! I will be watching the game and I’ve already put a three hundred pound bet on United to win by two clear goals. Like I said, they will win this one and then turn around and lose to Swansea. The team has an eratic defence and weak midfield, so we have problems. But with these problems we have the heart to dig deep and win the league. We die hard United fans have to continue to support our team 150% and all you phonies can go you no where.

FFS…
Herbie… ???… what colour is the sky on your planet?
I would imagine blue, like the colour of his favourite team.
There’s one stat I would like to know. Could we find out how many pieces of gum Fergie has chewed this season?
It’s the same one.
That’s big of you,Herbie, I’m sure Fergie are Guardiola are both very grateful.
