nice bit of self promotion Ed. but good opinion, and well expressed. But why do we hold politians on such high pedastals?? some are educated, some are not, some are smart/wise/foresighted, some are not, and we wonder who were the idiots to make such &such an MP in the first place. we really only should “idolize” those who excel in a meritocracy, not a political popularity contest. Nor should we be holding people who live by certain rules, “football/becoming the best footballer” for example, to higher rules of morality. True, in a utopian world each and every footballer would be like Giggs/Neville/SCholes/Carrick/Fletcher, but most young men, especially those with too much time, and too much money, on their hands, struggle to use either or both wisely. We should be looking to community leaders, not politicians, sportsmen/women or movie/pop stars for moral guidance. The people who actually run the country, the heads of banks, big business, academics, public servants etc.etc
