The Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) projected its latest campaign message directly on to Old Trafford Thursday night, much to security staff annoyance. The trust, which now has membership of more than 154,000 supporters, asks Manchester United’s corporate sponsors to choose a side: the Glazer family or the fans.
MUST projected logos of new shirt sponsor AON, together with principal commercial partners including Audi, Betfair, Smirnoff and Nike on the East Stand façade and the North East quadrant as CES staff attempted to disrupt the stunt.
The MUST projection states that the Glazers are damaging MUFC, before asking sponsors if they are “damaging their brands” by association with the American family.
That CES fella looked like he was about to be in a world of trouble!
Good to see MUST stepping up their campaign, I hope the G&G campaign carries on strong into next season if the the club isn’t taken over during the summer, the Glazers are a cancer.
Red Knights .. or Red Squids ?
Hi Ed,
Trust you’ve seen the Matt Taibbi quote and Samuel article.
Whether they go by the name of Glazer, Goldman-Sachs, Abramosonofabitch, Red Knight O’Neill, they all have the same DNA mate.
‘a great vampire squid wrapped around the face of humanity, relentlessly jamming its blood funnel into anything that smells like money’

I don’t disagree with your sentiment – these guys are not going to bid as a philanthropic act. They’ll want a financial return and fans should be concerned about plans as yet not revealed.
But Samuel’s piece – both on O’Neil (nothing proven or even alleged) and on United (Old Trafford was a lot smaller, United topped the attendance league in the vast majority of post-war seasons) does the usual Daily Mail bit of printing only the facts that support whatever polemic they’re writing at the time.
The aggressors have all been captured on CCTV and photographic camera. We have informed the greater Manchester police department of the details of the ‘projector vehicle’ used in this act of aggression. The registered owner will be contacted and dealt with in due course. I advise you that using the logos of Manchester United’s sponsors in such a manner is thought upon as a libel infringement. The club and it’s sponsors will reserve the right to prosecute the perpetrators. The police have also been informed of the acts of affray committed against me and my employees.
Yours sincerely
CES chief
Right, I assume you’re not Mike Halligan, CEO of Controlled Solutions Group but if you are I’d get some better lawyers. Libel is the written word. Maybe you mean copyright infringement. But that would be like seeking an arrest for littering during a riot.
Dear ‘Ed’
I can only assume you were part of the ‘projector plot’. We’ve been monitoring this Internet domain for some time now. Duncan Drasdo and his henchmen will be stopped, I can assure you of that. Our people are everywhere. We even have people selling green and gold scarves, handing over half the profits to the Glazers. Eric Cantona’s even on our books. These ‘Red Knights’ and their MUST pawns are no match for the might of CES, I can assure you of that
Yours sincerely
CES chief
Ha ha. Dear ‘Mike’ good one. Although I am surprised the megastore isn’t selling green & gold scarves yet.
Sadly I’m not nearly smart enough to come up with anything to do with projectors.
Ah, so is he responsible for the Burger-a-la-Coli I ate against Spurs ?
