Manchester United captain Gary Neville may retire at the end of the season after failing to secure a new contract with the club. Neville, who made his United debut against Torpedo Moscow in 1992, has played 583 times for the club. But the defender, 34, has suffered multiple injuries over the past three seasons. Should he now retire?

Unfotunately i think its time for him to leave the playing staff yes. For a coaching role hopefully as he needs to stay at the club. I have but one request….. his testimonial has to be against whoever Antonio Reyes is playing for. One last up in the air job on him to finish a marvellous career 🙂
Im a tottenham fan but i believe that gary is one of the greatest full-backs ever to grace the english game. He is a hardworking and inspiring footballer and should he decide to leave i believe it will be the end of an era. I would love to see gary stay on as a coach at the least.
All good things must come to an end. At least he’ll still hate scousers- even if only from the terraces
Gary has given the club fantastic service for nearly 18 years, but I think it is time for him, Scholes and Giggs to hang up their boots.
I know people will say “but what about Giggsy? He’s as good as ever”. Maybe, but the longer these guys stay on, the longer our kids will be held back. Neville is just one part of a much wider problem – I do not believe that our academy players are getting a fair crack at proving themselves.
We need to find out if the kids coming through the youth team and the reserves can cut it. We will never really know at this rate.
Those of you who were around then think about this – its generally acknowleged that Sir Matt (God bless him) was too loyal to a illustrious group of players that were unfortunately past it. Now ask yourself if the same thing is happening now under Sir Alex.
A united legend, but what pace he once had is now lost.
Sadly Gary is fast becoming more of a burden than a spark for the team…
enough said hes been great but getting a bit stale now. Costing money with his wages could be better used on another player
He’s a hero but he’s not playing at a high enough level anymore. Give him a coaching position.
He’s showed he doesn’t give a toss about the fans or what the Glazers are doing, as long as he is getting his cash… Some shop steward!!!!!
He’s a gobshite, and he should call it a day….
