Ravel Morrison’s promising half against Crystal Palace this week, combined with a dearth of attacking creative central midfield talent, had tongues wagging at Old Trafford. Could the callow youth, known for his gliding style, quick feet and smart finish, add something to Sir Alex Ferguson’s first team squad? Morrison, who has been in trouble with the law on more than one occasion over the past 18 months, has now appeared twice in this season’s Carling Cup. But could the talented 18-year-old go further and press for a place in Ferguson’s side?

JUST IMAGINE HIM PLAYING WITH ROONEY.
IMAGINE IT.
THEN CHUCK IN NANI AND YOUNG.
THEN HAVE CARRICK AND FLETCH HOLDING.
BLOODY IMAGINE IT.
That’s where we hope we should be heading. The Utd future midfield will probably feature Cleverley, Morrison and Tunnicliffe.
Tunnicliffe probably won’t make it I’m afraid.
i think he will make it, hes the kinda box to box midfielder weve been crying out for since keane left and hargreaves couldnt stay fit, stong in the tackle powerful running, good passing gets the occasional goal too, fergie just needs to give him more time because its harder to throw a defensive midfielder into the action then an attacking one,as he will be flying into crunching tackles they need to make sure hes pshyically develops or ricks having alot of injuries
He doesn’t often get a game in the Championship, and when he does he doesn’t particularly impress. If he can’t make it there, he won’t make it at United.
OR
Chico
Ravel Rooney Nani/Young
Carrick Fletcher
Let the boy shine, and id personally drive pogba to city.Totally over rated.
put him on the left, our options there are crap, young and park
Thrust is probably over doing it. But the old adage, if you’re good enoguh you’re old enough is very appropriate to Morrison. I’d certainly have him on the bench in the next few matches and give him some game time depending on circumstances. Whilst he has to be handled carefully, I see no reason (footballing ones anyway) why he should be held back. We need a boost and he’s a very exciting talent.
morrison is talented, but not yet the first team player. pogba should be given a chance though. the fact that united are trailing city by 5 points makes it a difficult option for fergie to risk any position on the pitch.
1) Morrison is playing much better than Pogba at the moment.
2) The fact we are 5 points behind and missing Cleverley / Anderson makes it imperative we try something new, because what we have now isn’t working.
The sooner we move to 4-3-3 and get Clev and Ravel (with Carrick/Fletch/new signing holding) in the centre linking with Rooney the better
Zaha for england eagles!
Tell Fletcher and carrick to sit behind for this guy to run amok with Rooney ahead and Young and Nani wide. We will be very good again.Chicharito on the bench and come on only if we are chasing the game.
That lad was born to play in the same role of all these players we seem to be coveting: Hazard, Sneijder, Goetze, and whoever you can think. Silva even. We have to play him. Not ask him to play wide or in a midfield duo. He and Rooney will get in each other’s paths except there is Welbeck ahead of them to run channels.
I don’t know if he’s ready to be a first team regular… but he can’t be worse than what we’ve got… surely.
All you can do is give him a run of games and see how he does… fact is though… we shouldn’t be that desperate.
Of course he’s ready to be a first teamer. Did he look out of place against Aldershot or Crystal Palace ? Of course not. He was as good as if not better than a number of others who are recognised as first teamers. Give him a go.
you have clearly never seen him play have you perry
Yes we should thrust him.
If he’s got ‘issues’ – they just gonna deepen from doing nought in the reserves.
Stick him on the bench for now, he is a great player to come on and turn a match. He clearly has more to his game than all our our central midfielders bar possibly Cleverley. The problem is Fergie would rather play squaddies. At the highest level there is no subsitute for quality.
Get off the lads back regarding his personal life
for Gods sake,You wombats are a pain in the A…
Give the boy some credit instead of negative
comments, and leave it to SAF to guide the lad
to whatever his future holds.
Welbeck
Rooney
Young Clev Ravel Nani
Fabio Vidic Jones Smalling
De Gea
Sorted. Rooney deep and Smalling / Jones will help out in midfield. Same as the team that blew away everyone at the start of the season, except we have Ravel in for Anderson.
p.s. Cleverley more crucial than Ravel.
Listen Agent P,
I’m assuming you’re taking a guess at this because you couldn’t of got it any more wrong if you tried.
What does it matter anyway, he’ll be arrested first
Will he? Or are you just a bit simple? I suspect the latter.
Hes a great kid with fantastic potential. The way he plays is iniesta like. I say the sooner he starts linking up with Rooney, Nani and Cleverley then the sooner teams wont be able to get the ball of us.
There is lots more promising young players like him in the reserve and academy teams at the moment and the future looks bright for United.
Oh for f…
He’s atleast 2 seasons away. The desparation over here
Alfonso Bedoya: “I don’t know if he’s ready to be a first team regular… but he can’t be worse than what we’ve got… surely.”
Right on = Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia hardly impressed against Aston Villa. In fact, their “play” is the best argument for Morrison’s promotion to the first-team. Give the kid a chance – he can’t do worse than them !

Bad source but is his contract up?
dozer – checked in with club. No comment policy on contracts but for “guidance” told me that it is “very rare” that the club lets players under 30 run into final year of their contracts. Not quite sure where that leaves us though. Ravel has recently changed representation. No longer with Key Sports, despite what you may have read elsewhere.
I thought it was until 2014…
United wouldn’t tie it up until the summer. His off field antics seem to be calming down and on the field he never gets wound up. I’m convinced he will make his break through after xmas.
He has got wound up in reserve games, he has threatened other opponents with physical assault and gone looking for people after games with the Liverpool, he probably should not be played on a regular basis un till you are sure this carry on will not continue.
I’d love to see him step up. I think he has the raw talent and instinctive touch and passing that we’re missing between the midfield and Rooney +1 upfront. Rather him than Gibson every day of the week, and we’re dangerously close to that becoming reality again after he had one half-decent game in the Carling Cup…
I thought that was a rival gang member he went after in Liverpool. He’s a fucking idiot off the pitch, as his Twitter account will testify, with sulks and such after not being picked for reserve squads, and his infamous ‘can’t wait for this season to end’ post, which he had to hastily backtrack over, but he’s just what we’re missing on the pitch at the moment.
The question is whether Ravel Morrison will make the midfield any worse by his inclusion in to the first team.
I don’t think he is any worse than anything we have got at the moment. He hasn’t been sent on loan either which suggests that he does have a part to play in the first team this season.
Cleverly, Morrison, and Pogba are the future for the United midfield.
Perhaps that is why SAF refuses to invest in a central midfielder because he knows these boys are coming though.
Yes the Liverpool incident was a rival gang member apparently, he has other form as well while playing with the youth team, it’s a lot of pressure to be putting on a young man who is possibly not ready for this pressure and exposure just yet.
Championship? What the fuck are you talking about?
That’s Tunnicliffe you fuckwit
