Manchester United kicked off the new football season tonight with a 3-0 win over newly promoted Newcastle United at Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson’s side ended disappointed last season, finishing a point behind Chelsea in the Premier League, knocked out of the Champions League in the quarter final and the FA Cup at the third round stage.
Silverware came only in the form of Ferguson’s fourth priority – the Carling cup, which the team defended at Wembley against Aston Villa. Despite the relative disappointments of last season, Ferguson has strengthened United’s squad with young and largely unproven talent rather than established names, while declaring his faith in youth.
What do you think Ferguson’s team will achieve this season after the arrivals of Javier Hernández, Chris Smalling and Bébé over the summer transfer window?

if by some miracle we sign ozil then i think the champs league is a real possibility. we also need a find a fk taker than can cause the keeper more problems, the main difference between chelseas win and ours were there set pieces. the league is too close to call and will depend on things like injuries.
“Just” the league, IMHO.
We will be potless.
Legend.
