Manchester City’s eye raising draw with Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday has changed the Premier League title race dynamic once again in a season of frequent surprises. Within sight of a two point gap at kick off on Tuesday, Roberto Mancini’s side will slip to seven points off the lead should Manchester United beat Southampton at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
Victory at Old Trafford promises a significant carrot for Ferguson’s team, and with City facing Liverpool at Eastlands next Sunday there will be more than a few United supporters counting on a even greater gap by Saturday evening.
Indeed, City’s slip against relegation fodder QPR has opened up a huge opportunity for Sir Alex Ferguson’s men against the Saints. While the south coast side certainly gave United a genuine test earlier this season – the fixture in which Robin van Persie scored his first goal for the club – Southampton remains in deep trouble, just three points off the relegation zone.
The Saints arrive, if not in disarray, then in a state of considerable flux. Much loved manager Nigel Adkins was sacked on 18 January despite a record of just two defeats in the club’s previous 12 matches. His replacement, the Argentine Mauricio Pochettino, comes with a coaching pedigree at Espanyol in La Liga, together with 20 caps for his national team.
Yet, Saints’ fans, angry at the manner of Adkins’ dismissal, have not been slow to voice disapproval. It is a sentiment that Ferguson, always supportive of the managers’ union – Rafael Benitez aside – has been quick to echo ahead of Soton’s trip north.
“I spoke to [Adkins] the day before he was sacked,” said Sir Alex on Tuesday.
“He phoned me about his situation there. I mean I can’t understand these things. I think their form had picked up. Was it two defeats in 12 games? That’s not bad for a team at the bottom of the league.
“Southampton’s fans have got a way of demonstrating and there were a few banners up at the Everton game. It’s nice in terms of recognising the contribution Adkins made. He brought them up into the division and it’s not an easy job.
“The game prior to losing his job, they were 2-0 down to Chelsea but they came back and got a draw. Arsenal had the same situation and got to 2-1 but couldn’t quite get the second goal. The task of getting back at Chelsea on their home ground when you’re 2-0 down is pretty impressive.”
Southampton’s impressive display in the goalless draw with Everton a fortnight ago said much about the team’s fighting spirit in recent weeks even if too few goals scored, allied to far too many conceded, left Adkins side teetering on the brink before the Englishman’s dismissal.
Ferguson may opt to bring Tom Cleverley or Paul Scholes back into midfield, although Anderson impressed in United’s total dominance of Fulham in the cup. Meanwhile, van Persie and Wayne Rooney should be reunited in attack, with Nani, Valencia and Shinji Kagawa competing for, perhaps, two wide spots.
Whatever the team selection United can look forward to a fixture period that includes matches against Southamton, Fulham and Everton in the league prior to the European fixture at Santiago Bernabéu. There is every reason for supporters to believe that United can secure nine points prior to the Euro game.
Meanwhile, the visitors will make a late call on the fitness of Adam Lallana, while striker Guilhermo do Prado and defender Jose Fonte will miss the clash with knee injuries.
The travelling supporters are not expected to make any significant protest against the club’s management at Old Trafford. Although the voices of disapproval were heard at St. Mary’s after Pochettino’s appointment, widespread protest has yet to materialise.
Certainly, the new Southampton manager has played a cute public relations game in the past 10 days, although results will define his relationship with the travelling support above all else. After all, Adkins achieved two promotions with the club, while the Argentine is yet to achieve anything of note as a coach.
The manner of appointment leaves Pochettino’s bank of credit in debt from the off; United hope to make another sizeable withdrawal with victory on Wednesday night.
“I don’t know a lot about him to be honest but I will have a chat with my brother [Martin] as he’s been scouting in Spain,” said Ferguson of the Premier League’s newest manager.
“It won’t matter in this particular game as he’s just at the club but they had a fantastic response against Everton. They should have won as they were superb and could have been five-up in the first half. Tim Howard had a fantastic game, they hit the woodwork and Rickie Lambert missed a couple of chances. They played really well against Everton who are at the top of their game and playing really well.”
It should be a home-banker whatever Ferguson’s tact, although the Reds’ inability to shut the opposition out this season has encouraged visiting sides to attack at Old Trafford. Some have profited from the bravery, although Fulham’s performance last weekend was anything but.
Still, Ferguson is keen for complaceny to be eradicated as United seek to drive home a significant advantage.
“We’re not taking anything for granted,” said Sir Alex. “We’ve got Southampton on Wednesday, then we go to Fulham and then it’s Everton at home. These are big games, massive games.
“Teams will drop points. Not just us but Manchester City will drop points, absolutely, it’s a certainty. We’ll probably drop two or three ourselves but the important thing is accepting the challenge that every game is just as difficult as the rest.”

- Tom Cleverley provided the assist for van Persie’s goal in United’s fixture against Tottenham Hotspur – just his second of the season, despite having completed 386 passes in the opposition half at a rate of one every 3 minutes 6 seconds;
- United defender Phil Jones made five blocks during the game against Spurs, the joint second highest number of the season;
- Southampton’s new manager Pochettino has inherited the hardest working team in the Premier League – Southampton’s players have covered more ground than any other team with a total of 1474 miles;
- Morgan Schneiderlin takes the individual trophy for most distance run with a total of 148.2 miles so far this season, one of only five players to have topped 140 miles;
- Schneiderlin has also completed 414 passes in the opposition half this season, more than any other Saints player;
- Rickie Lambert is Southampton’s top ranked player in the EA SPORTS Player Performance Index having scored ten goals in the Premier League at a rate of one every 191 minutes 40 seconds, and one every 5.1 shots;
- Lambert also has five assists to his name, meaning he has contributed to exactly half of Southampton’s 30 Premier League goals this season.
Prediction
2-0
DDG
Jones Smalling Vidic Evra
Carrick Anderson
Welbeck Rooney Kagawa
van Persie
Marion – is that “for real” or just your wish ?
That’s the confirmed 11
The bench: Lindegaard, Rafael, Buttner, Ferdinand, Cleverley, Valencia, Nani
Fergie not fucking about. Hopefully we’ll arse rape em.
Jones at RB is a good idea. Lambert is great in the air and if I remember rightly Raphael struggled with his height at St Mary’s.
Come on United.
Lets go United!
I hope we completely destroy them… proper send off for Adkins.
WTF??????????????????????????
complacent cocks
Anyone got a HD link??
FFS not got a stream yet
Carrick fuck up?
de gea too
hes gonna go into his shell for 18 months again after that
And De Gea…
nice one rooney
now lets kick some ass
Get in, piece of piss
Wahahahaha………
Great pass by Kagawa
Quality finish by Rooney
Really? Or are people just blaming him again?
We could seriously fuck them over. They’ve not had the ball apart from the fuck up
Carrick put him in bother, but he should have done a bit better to be fair
And I’m a DdG fan
hes about to go through the gears for his usual run-in brilliance rooney
if they have their heads screwed on, then yes
Nope… Carricks fault for the problem, but De Gea could have rescued the situation, and made a fuckin right mess of it.

Welbeck cannot pass water…
can’t pass
can’t score
perfect
He’s fast, the new Bellion!
Still rather have him than berbatov…oh wait..we do!!
Rooney in the mood.
Another Patrice assist and a goal from an RVP set piece.
Evra has been excellent going forward this year.
I think that’s 4 goals and 5 assists for Evra in the League so far.
Missed the second goal because my computer is a piece of shit
Buying a new fucking beasty laptop after the game because I’m doing my nut here
just got in from work 2-1 up, ok.
He should have scored….bloody hell
that won’t be the last time you’ll say that about young welbeck
whos the 17 year old defender soton have got, is he much cop
Shaw? Not playing today.
Kagawa has looked good so far. Faded in the last 15 with the rest of the team but had an assist, hit the post and played two key passes before.
De Gea has played the majority of his games with Rio and Evans. Don’t know how many he’s played with Vidic/Jones/Smalling at CB but it’ll take time to build an understanding. Seems to make mistakes less often when Rio/Evans starting.
You watching the game? Wile your point may be valid that particlar mistake has zero to do with Vidic or Smalling…..
I see Fergie was dispensing the Valium at half time… great
They are really good on the ball
Their midfield is better than ours
used to be the hairdryer
how times have changed
Dropping points here is unacceptable. If Nani can’t get a game on the wing ahead of Welbeck and Kagawa, Fergie’s lost faith in him.
I know. If De Gea had actually gone for it, he could have been sent off too. Still, has to be easier for a ‘keeper to know when to come for a ball or stay on his line when he knows what the two players in front of him are going to do
need to shake things up
no pea on the bench though
Well we can’t keep the ball for shit right now. Anytime the defenders have the ball the midfield runs away so there is no alternative but to hoof it up the pitch. Their players stay close to each other so there is always a pass on. Basic stuff but its the kind of stuff that Barca do instinctively that we don’t.
It’s time for Rooney to take this match by the scruff of the beck.
Anderson has been wuiet..
Ok this is getting ridiculous.
Yeah, there is always an option for Southampton
Carrick and De Gea just dwelled on the ball because there was nothing on, and we ended up giving it away
Fuck’s sake we are a fucking shambles.
We’re inviting a De Gea fuck up because we can’t keep the ball
Just pass and move, give the player on the ball an option ffs, don’t just charge toward goal when we’re in possession
Fergie is fuming at this shite.
I’m dreading the Madrid game
We need width and Carrick’s having a bad game, so we’re not putting anything together in midfield.
have we even had a shot this half?
Why is Fergie messing with the defence when we’re looking nervous
We need options in midfield. Bring Clev on, he’s always available
Anderson off for Rafael. Anderson had a poor game, but Jones in midfield is not going to solve any problems with ball retention
this is looking to be the most embarrassing half at Old Trafford since the 6-1…
We rely on goals to dominate games rather than an actual midfield
Seriously…besides industry what the fuck does Wellbeck offer…..
We’re playing much better now, but I’ve a nasty feeling we’re going to let them snatch a draw.
Shit from Rooney that
Its typical Rooney performance this season,….brilliant for a half…then sloppy and disinterested ….
is carrick actually in a coma right now? seriously, wtf was that?
carricks definitely gone again
we wont see him til the 2015 season
which is fine because fergie will play him until he’s 39
Last minute goal anyone?
They look like fucking Barca against us at the moment. We can’t even get in the game.
Phew. That was terrible.
Thank fuck!
Credit to Southampton they played very well. Should have no trouble staying in the division.
Diabolical, fuck knows how we even got 40% possession in the second half. Totally and utterly dominated.
embarrassing
still could be worse
both the rent boys and scouse scum let 2 nil leads slip
ffs shit second half, but we won , thats all that counts.
MANCHESTER IS MY HEAVEN- SIR MATT BUSBY
Well that was shit
Outplayed, outfought, out thought
It’s not rocket science either, they just got men around the ball when in possession, and got men around the player with the ball when out of possession
In contrast when our centrebacks had the ball our entire team charged forward. It’s fucking stupid. There were no midfielders for them or Carrick to hit, so we lumped it forward.
If we play a team that plays like Southampton then Clev has to play because he’s always available. He passes and follows it up.
no more mid winter breaks to qatar please
instead shove the hairdryer up their collective arses if they need warming up
I didn’t see any of the game, but when cleverley is missing I never think we play that well… Welbeck FFS where is pea?
I dont know what was going on there second half. Weve lost the ability to play 90mins.
Midfileld was horrible…except Kagawa in first half. Ando absolutely missing
Rooney great firs half…then sloppy second
Defence didnt so too badly really…
And even DDg fans must see that he didnt have the best of games tonight..lseveral mistakes there…thankfully only one led to a goal
7 points clear, lets not forget that.
we needed a win, we got it.
Played shit and won, so yeah that’s impressive. But horrific tactical inefficiencies are hard to overlook.
Ando completed just 66% of his passes. Another cunt, any cunt, in there with Carrick and we’d have played better.
We’ve got a tough run coming up. Good time to give Clev a bit of a rest. Despite the pressure they had just 4 shots on target and 75% of their shots were from outside the box and they had none in our 6 yard box. We defended well, at least. Since the Newcastle game, we’ve conceded 3 goals in 5 games in the PL – not a difficult run of games but comfortably our best run this season. We haven’t had any kind of balance in the team for the last two seasons in terms of attack/defence, but I think we’ve seen a glimpse of it when Carrick and Cleverley are paired in midfield.
Tonight we had Anderson, Kagawa and Rooney playing their 2nd(?) game since returning from long spells out as well as Jones and Welbeck playing out of position. They were bound to fade as the game progressed.
I dont think you can blame De Gea for Southampton’s 21 shots on goal and 8 corners.
we surely can’t play as badly 2 games running?
still, i’d have taken a 2-1 result at 8pm like all the rest of us
just still can’t figure out why we struggled to play with any momentum most of the 2nd half and made them look like the home team; i know this won’t sit well with some but really missed giggs out there and even scholes would have been some improvement with the quality of passing he still has
basically carrick runs the midfield and from the minute he fucked up he was back in his old hiding bollockless mode and we didnt know what to do
Our midfield was once again our main problem… but Ferguson won’t admit it.
Our midfield problem will not get sorted until Ferguson leaves.
Fair play to Southampton in the 2nd half. They completely outplayed us in every department and they were desperately unlucky to not even get a point.
On the way back, I heard Fergie on Radio 5 blaming the pitch. What a joke.
We can’t handle it when teams work hard and press us.
Kagawa was probably our best player. He worked hard and tried to make things happen. He could have been instrumental in 2 assists and had a goal himself in the first half.
Whoever said we defended well must have been watching a different game. Our defending was last-ditch. The number of times the Southampton lads got behind our defence and put balls into the box only for a Southampton player to scuff/shank his effort was worrying. Vidic and Smalling were criminally shite at distributing the ball to a red shirt. Towards the end of the game, not a single United player could be arsed to go to the Southampton man in possession of the ball. They were allowed to choose whether to put the ball in the box or pass it. They had the freedom of the pitch.
Despite his goals, Rooney was fucking lazy/sloppy. His passing was all over the place.
Fulham will turn us over if we play like that. Small pitch at a ground where we don’t usually play brilliantly – and I’m sure they’ll press us, unlike last week. I’m worried we’ll drop points.
What I want to know is what did Southampton put in their half-time tea that suddenly turned them into Barcelona? That second half was embarrassing from United. Every time we got the ball we looked panicky and resulted in terrible distribution and lack of awareness. But as many of you guys have already said – full credit to Southampton. They looked absolute class in the second half. They deserved at least a point and we would have no complaints had they gone home with all three.
I agree with everything except the defense part….
Not being too scientific about it, but if you consider that despite dominating possession, how many real chances did Southampton really have? How many saves did DDG have to make? How many unmarked headers etc? I count maybe 1-2 where Soton shouldve done better….and I include the Vidic block on that one
The rest were all well-defended half chances…
Hands up if you think Southampton’s goal was de Gea’s fault?
If you’ve got your hand up, then you’re a moron
Nope, not having that… Southampton didn’t do anything special, except run their arses off, and fair play to them for that… but the problem was all Uniteds… on our patch against relegation fodder???????? we should be showing them up for what they are… ridiculous showing from us.
No midfield… simple.
No protection for the defence… no link between front and back… Southampton bossed the second half, because they had complete control of the midfield.
Ferguson tried to fix it by taking off Anderson, who was shit, and pushing Jones up… didn’t work… I used to think Jones might make a decent midfielder, but I was wrong… I don’t think he has the head for it… he’s a centre half, and that’s where he’ll excel… unless Ferguson turns him into another fuckin utility player… which is quite possible… him and his fuckin, “let’s just bodge it” approach to football.
We might be top of the league, but most teams know how to play us… press hard, and you can stop us from playing and often win the ball back… we’ve conceded way too many goals for a title winning team, and it’s because our midfield has left our defence too exposed too often… and when our defence has the ball, they struggle to get it forward, without just hoofing it up the pitch, because the midfield isn’t a dependable link between front and back.
Carrick and Cleverly have been our only relatively consistent pairing… and that’s not good enough…
Van Persie has made us look a lot better than we really are… and if he hadn’t bailed us out so many times this year, I doubt we’d even be top three, never mind top of the table.
Our midfield is a complete farce… again… but Ferguson won’t admit that… he’ll just blame it on the pitch, and the ref, and the weather, and chuckle that we offer the most entertainment… “football, bloody hell”.
He’s a cunt… and I’m sick of his excuses, his lies, his arrogant posturing… in fact I’m just sick of his gum chewing, burst sausage nosed, fuckin face…
Are you fucking kidding?
We’re top of the league by 7 points, and still in the champs league and FA Cup… any other team in Britain would be sucking each other’s dicks if they had that.
No we’re not playing great football… but we’re winning and that’s what counts.
Jesus, if someone gave you a gold bar you’d whinge because it didn’t have diamonds in it…you miserable get.
What are you on about???
Of course it was De Geas fault… Carrick may have dropped him in it, but De Gea HAS to charge out and kick the shit out of the ball… and player too if he gets in the way… not just jump up in the air like a big fuckin pansy.
“Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don’t need badges. I don’t have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and ching’ tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you.”
If de gea had tried to kick the shit out of the ball and had kicked the shit out of the man instead (which was most likely to happen due to a shit complacent pass from , he would have definitely been sent off. Imagine if we played that 85 minutes of that game with 10 men and 1 goal down.
taggart knows he has a midfield blind spot, thats why hes overloaded on strikers wingers and defenders in the past five years, almost all the midfielders hes signed in the past 20 years have flopped, he hasnt signed one of note for five years ffs and that was hargreaves
he probably wont sign one til a complete no risk 100 percent wont flop class act comes along
which is wilshere
If de gea had tried to kick the shit out of the ball and had kicked the shit out of the man instead (which was most likely to happen due to a shit complacent pass from , he would have definitely been sent off. Imagine if we played that 85 minutes of that game with 10 men and 1 goal down.
Exactly right
Stick that up yer old man rectum Alf!!
Alfonso.
If de gea had tried to kick the shit out of the ball and had kicked the shit out of the man instead (which was most likely to happen due to a shit complacent pass from , he would have definitely been sent off. Imagine if we played that 85 minutes of that game with 10 men and 1 goal down.
ffs
At the fact Merchant doesn’t know how to work a fucking computer?!?!?!
Bollocks… he was too slow, and too timid.
If he charges out quick enough, he gets there first, and there’s no pen.
And then he should be tearing strips off Carrick for his blunder.
This is De Geas one biggest problem… he’s too soft… he needs to bulk up in the head… keepers are supposed to be hard, scary bastards… no fuckin about… get the fuck out of my way, that’s mine… don’t piss me off, I’ll fuckin shit all over you, cunt!
De Gea is still waiting for permission…
“Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don’t need badges. I don’t have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and ching’ tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you.”
no ref is gonna give the away side a pen and us a red card after 2 mins at ot, degea shouldve cleaned out man and ball
LKHF
faffing
Alfonso.
If de gea had tried to kick the shit out of the ball and had kicked the shit out of the man instead (which was most likely to happen due to a shit complacent pass from carrick) , he would have definitely been sent off. Imagine if we played 85 minutes of that game with 10 men and 1 goal down.
Can’t believe people trying to deflect blame away from carrick, imagine if that was nani or someone else who isnt a fergie pet who made that pass. That was a joke from carrick specifically after fergie talked about complacency and add to that he was completely shit for the rest of the game. This is not the first time this season where carrick dwelling on the ball or playing a shit back pass has lead directly to a goal. he almost cost a goal later in the game as well when he dwelled on the ball and gave it away on the edge of our box.
We were getting dominated in midfield and could not retain possession so fergie and the 5 star coaching staff decide the best thing to do is play a natural centre back, who had been playing right back for 60 minutes, in central midfield next to an inept and complacent carrick. All this while a natural well rested central midfielder was on the bench. Next they decide to take off kagawa, a player with 85-90 % pass completion and an assist and probably the best united player on the pitch up until he went off. Fergie and the coaching staff chose to ignore welbecks constant shit first touches and passes which lead to easy giveaways and subsequently to southhampton attacks. I think he gave the ball away every time he got it in the second half.
The most worrying thing for me is the ease at which any opposition can get into and around our box into dangerous areas. They had 20 shots to our 10. We made 52 clearances compared to their 13 and they had 8 corners and 59% possession. I think any goalkeeper would struggle with this current united team and coaching staff.
Guys sorry about the repetitive posting, my Internet was giving me problems earlier
Wow the blind love to what is essentially an unproven keeper is astonishing.,,.at least Alf And others has the balls to call it what it is….a fuckup
You mentioned 20 shots…how many SAVES does DDG actually make? 3? 4? Fergie in e post match seems to believe its only one (the free kick) and DDG also made a hash out of that….wasnt this the one that rebounded to the danger area (again!!) ? Thank heavens their player couldnt connect with it….
And despite your 20 shots statistics, you do realize that their ONLY goal was directly due, in the 3rd minute before all these 20 shots happened, due to a fuckup by BOTh carrick and DdG…
“Can’t believe people trying to deflect blame away from carrick,”
Who’s doing that???
Carrick caused the problem… everyone agrees… but De Gea had the chance to rescue the situation and he didn’t.
De Gea could and should have bailed Carrick out… and then tore his head off, and kicked it after the ball into row Z.
I’m a De Gea fan, and I’m not having all the abuse he’s been getting from a lot of people… but last night he shit himself… not good enough… he has some growing up to do… and he has to do it sooner rather than later, because the opposition won’t wait for him to sort himself out.. they will continue to target him… and if he can’t stand up for himself, then he won’t make it in England.
How exactly? By clattering into Rodriguez and probably getting sent off? He did the only thing he could have after that shambles of a pass by Carrick – still the only really poor thing he’s done for a long time imo – and the alternative would have likely been a foul, red card and 87 mins with only ten men against a battling side who by all accounts were the better side on the night.
hes willing to do tricks and fucking cruyff turns in his own box risking losing the ball and conceeding but hes not wiling to risk taking out man and ball to win a ball that shouldve been his if he hadnt bottled it
him and carrick are both to blame
difference is de gea wont go into hiding now tbf
Ok they are both at fault but more carrick. What the fuck was that soft pass played on the jump with the outside of his right foot! I just think that carrick should be berated more than de gea because it was shocking play from him within the first 5 minutes, maybe if carrick also wasn’t a soft timid pussy he would have played a more assertive pass.
I do agree with you though on De Gea being soft in his all round game. That assertive no-nonsense attitude will come with age though. However, we don’t have the luxury of waiting on him to do this as we need a strong assertive keeper now more than ever with our sieve of a midfield and defence. He needs to grow up fast although I do think he wouldn’t be in the spotlight as much if we were a well coached defensive unit.
I think this game confirmed that fergie thinks jones offers the most to the team as a utility man. It’s sad as I think he could be a great central defender fitness permitting. He showed everyone against fulham that centre back is where he belongs, where he can see the game in front of him and put pressure and make tackles on opposition forwards.
In about 2 weeks jones has had to play centre mid vs tottenham for 90 mins, centre back vs fulham for 90 mins, right back vs Southampton for 60 mins and then centre mid for 30 mins. What is going on here, fergie is trying to make a talented player into the new o’shea.
The worst thing is De Gea skips over the ball like a big girl
Fuck it… you see what you want… I saw a keeper hesitate and shit himself, when if he’d gotten off his line smartly, he’d have been first to the ball, and a strong challenge prevents a goal… no goal, no penalty, and no criticism.
DDg, had every opportunity to get the ball..he was bollockless
As you say he has to clean out, ball and man. There is no try! You are playing for Manchester United FFS!
It is an issue as to whether he will in the long term be suited to British football. As the FA Cup showed, English football is as much as about passion and physicality as it is about skill at times. That is the nature of the beast and has been for decades.
You have to feel that the goals against Spurs and Soton would have been dealt better by Lindegaard, even though in terms of ability De Gea is superior to Lindegaard.
Barca and Real are going to need a GK in the near future, if Utd receive a decent bid I would sell and buy another GK more suited to the PL.
So De Gea is crap because he can’t handle the passion and physicality of British football.
You’ve been watching too much Sky Sports punditry. They make you a moron.
Never said hes crap. It’s like Berba who would be far better suited to a technically superior La Liga. DDG is excellent in some categories like shot stopping and kicking. Unfortunately the unsophisticated underlying physical theme in English football exposes a DDG weakness on crosses and physical contact. He’s clearly one of the worlds best young goalkeepers, but is the United 1st team where you want a young GK learning his trade?
When was the last time he was done on a cross? I honestly can’t remember, it might have been recently. But generally it’s not as much as an issue as it was when he first arrived, which suggests that he is learning. At 22 he’s young enough to learn how to overcome these issues.
There are more interesting things to talk about tbh.
When I saw the goal yesterday, my initial thought was that it was entirely Carrick’s error.
Having seen a replay, I think it is Carrick’s fault for creating the situation in the first place. De gea possibly could have reacted a bit better. He wasn’t undone by a mindblowing trickery. I think he was anticipating a chip and was made to look a bit silly.
Still, mainly Carrick’s fault and he should be the one taking a bollocking not de gea.
Keepers can be made to look silly in those situations but he can learn from this situation.
Joe Hart is outstanding in one on one situations and de gea would do well to learn from him. In saying that, it’s mainly Carrick’s fault that we conceded imo.
What’s your problem? I could level the “You see what you want” line right back at you.
That could, and probably, would have happened to any of the league’s keepers in the same situation – and having seen the match highlights it was better he stayed on the pitch and we finished the game with eleven.
When will “prawn sarny” eating twats like you realise that it’s NOT just about winning… that’s the plastic mentality of shit house clubs like Chelsea and City, and struggling clubs that would just like a bit of success once in a while.
For most PROPER fans, of any club, it’s about pride… and right now, I’m not too proud of United… we are owned by a family of leeches who don’t even know that a football is supposed to be round… and a manager who’s more concerned with his own legend, and proving he can win, in spite of what anyone else thinks, including the fans themselves.
And since you’re into “sucking dicks”, why don’t you go and give Lord Fergie a spit and polish, since for people like you, he can do no wrong!
“Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don’t need badges. I don’t have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and ching’ tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you.”
Right… so I’m a prawn sarny eater and a plastic while you’re a PROPER fan cos you like a whinge hey… you pompous prick. I’ve followed this club for nearly 40 years… and for the first couple of decades of those we were pretty ordinary, so yes Fergie IS a legend as he’s brought us massive success in his time here. Yes I wish we played swashbuckling football and won 5-0 every week, but I’ll still take a 1-0 grind and be happy with it.
A proper fan like you may be better off at FC United whinging on the terraces you bellend.
I don’t have a problem, so wind your neck in… you’re right, I see what I see, you see what you see… I think De Gea fucked up, you don’t… I’m not going to fuckin argue with you any more!
Is that ok with you?
“Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don’t need badges. I don’t have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and ching’ tu madre! Come out from that shit-hole of yours. I have to speak to you.”
Well what’s the point in Rant if we can’t have a row!?
You smelly turd

“a prawn sarny eater and a plastic”… hey, if the cap fits your pointy head, then stick it on.
You started this argument, cause you don’t like me criticising your beloved Fergie… that’s your problem…
Ferguson is indeed a United legend, and I will argue that point with any who disagree… and 5 years ago he was cock of the walk by deeds, not just reputation… but now he’s becoming a fuckin joke… maybe it is just me complaining, or maybe you can’t see the rot for the silverware… whatever, I’m free to have my say, whether you like it or not, and that doesn’t mean I have to put up with crap like this, “If you don’t like it, go and watch Chelsea”… from you or Ferguson.
He lauds our parasitic owners every chance he gets, straight into the teeth of most United fans, and he treats United like his own personal project… knowing full well, that nearly anybody with an ounce of football sense, is dumbfounded at the way he currently runs the team… but he will do it anyway… just because he is “DARTH FERGUSON”.
There are some fans, obviously you included, that don’t give a fuck what Ferguson does or doesn’t do, as long as we win…
There are other fans, like myself, who actually agree with Fergusons OWN WORDS, that “no one is bigger than the club”, and are concerned that between the Glazers’ greed, and Fergusons’ pig-headed attitude, that United, and its fans are being screwed over…
Now that’s my opinion, and we defend opinions on this forum… and if you don’t like that, then you can get down off your high horse and kiss my ass… you sarny eating fuck head!
