The 37,697 attendance at Anfield last night for the Dipper’s 3-0 victory over West Ham United was the lowest for more than five years. The famously loyal fans deserted in droves, with large gaps apparent at the Anfield Road end and elsewhere. The excuse: fans from Ireland and Scandinavia were unable to get flights in for the game.
Not that Liverpool’s early exit from the Champions League and failure domestically had anything to do with it then? Don’t worry, next year will be yours Scouse friends. It always is.
Meanwhile, 46 per cent and counting of Liverpool supporters want their own side to lose against Chelsea on 2 May. Nothing like loyalty to inspire the team to greater things, heh?
This would shock me, but with Liverpool and scousers, it just doesn’t to be honest. No matter what their fans want, I can guarantee Liverpool’s players will remain professional and I think if they are still in the hunt for 4th place they will still try their hardest to win.
Yes,but they will all be there next to watch the reserve side play Chelsea……….and they will be there supporting the Blues…………..It will be a farce….Men of character and integrity…………….We know what they are going to do……………………………………………………………….They will be blowing the ball out of the Chelsea goal area……….after all they’ve been full of wind for a long time
I think the Dippers will get at least a draw from Chelsea, besides if we beat Spurs on Saturday they will still be in with a shout of 4th.
Plus they will want to finish above Everton who are not too far behind them, PLUS the higher they finish the more money they will receive.
PLUS if they dont get fourth they HAVE to qualify for the Europa Cup.
All of this means they will approach the game with nothing other than a win in mind.
On the Ireland / Scandanavian supporters, It will be interesting to see if there is a noticeable effect on the crowd size at O.T on Saturday.
I expect it to be a full house, thus once and for all putting and End to the myth that City are the best supported club in Manchester.
The only town where City are the best supported club is Stockport
Im in Stockport and im surrounded by Blue!
As soon as the scoucers open their mouth you can realise straight away that they are only MUPPETS !
Well that’s rather silly isn’t it? This is why you don’t win things Liverpool – you care too much about Manchester United(!) A true fan would want their team to win every game no matter what or who you might help. Good lord. (Whispers) fans…pff.
Shouldn’t you be more worried about your own team winning games than what Liverpool fans think?
Liverpool can still get 4th, highly unlikely but while the chance is still there the players will be going for it.
If you don’t win the league it will be your own fault for dropping points in other games, and perhaps not turning up at Anfield earlier in the season when Liverpool were at their poorest.
I dont hink its just that, Monday nights are a big factor aswell. Fucking hate them means a lot of people with season tickets wont be able to go due to work.
Like if Man u were playing on a monday night, when i finish at 6 im not gonna be able to reach old trafford by eigth when i live in northamptonshire.
Plus i think a lot of liverpool games were moved due to europa league which fucked things up a bit for fans
