Talking with the Enemy
With the derby coming up, we decided to record a little bonus episode, chatting with Bleacher Report’s Manchester City Correspondent and Manchester Evening News journalist Rob Pollard about the City perspective on the game. We talk Pep, obviously, and in spite of Paul’s best efforts to keep the City love in to a minimum, Rob waxes lyrical about the career of Yaya Toure. Rob is very fair minded on United and has interesting things to say about the rivalry from a City perspective and working on a Sports Desk at the global epicentre of football.

Love the podcast guys! Thanks for keeping us informed 😀
This is the best MUFC podcast out there! Thanks so much and keep up the good work. I am not a friend yet but I will be soon, you guys deserve it. I just had a question: Why is Paul Scholes such a bitter SOB? He is, according to the highest rated midfielders, a legend; yet every week he seems to say something that suggests MUFC did not help him fulfill his wildest dreams and gain legendary status WORLDWIDE. So while I accept that he has an opinion, I can’t take him seriously when he talks about how good shiteh players are or how he’d rather watch Salford than United(again with Salford City, ffs). I find he’s the kind of guy that dukes the pool when he’s done swimming. Just drinks a bunch of peach schnapps and a liter of milk, goes for a swim and diarrheas on his way out(that never happened to me, tbh). And I love the guy! He’s a legend! Yet everytime he opens his mouth I miss the man who let his football speak for him.
“So while I accept that he has an opinion, I can’t take him seriously when he talks about how good shiteh players are……..”.
WTF. So what are you saying? That City players are no good?
You’re the one I can’t take seriously.
Look past the tabloid headlines when Scholes speaks and actually find out what he has said and the context he has said it in. Making positive comments about City or Salford shows a degree of openmindedness which is a breath of fresh air compared with the usual cliche-ridden one-eyed sychophantic drivel expressed by ex-player pundits.
Scholesy has balls.
FACT: Paul Scholes is really Karl Pilkington in gingerface.
