Record Breakers
On this week’s show Ed & Paul look back on the international week in which many of Sir Alex Ferguson’s players were present. Did United’s stars return home fit and healthy in time for matches against Sunderland in the Premier League and Chelsea in the FA Cup? We talk Robin van Persie – the Dutchman wants to finish his career at Old Trafford. And Ferguson – United’s manager calls for a record breaking Premier League victory by the end of the campaign. Rio Ferdinand – the defender takes some heat for not joining up with England. And finally on this week’s show: we look back into the distant past at United’s victory over Reading at Old Trafford and take all your weird, and wonderful, questions.

It’s sooooooo nice to have the Rant Cast back after the longest ever international break in the world ever … AND you’ve still got it! 🙂
On a very serious personal note: was disappointed Paul missed the perfect opportunity to sing the Lee Cattermole/Smooth Criminal song.
Dear Ed and Paul,
In podcasting circles, it is considered bad form to continually miss one’s scheduled release times. You guys used to be so reliable, but now you are becoming the Nani’s of the United-themed podcasting world: no one knows when or even if you will show up. It’s just as well that I’ve come across a previously unknown United podcast that is now going viral.
Herbie’s Simplex is a podcast that seeks to demystify the goings on at Old Trafford. It is replete with tidbits of insider information on subjects ranging from future signings to the date of Sir Alex’s dreaded departure from the helm of this great club. Insights into what’s happening at the academy as well as tracking the progress of the many loanees help the listener to form a clearer picture of what the side will look like in the near future.
On a recent podcast, Mike Phelan was the special guest, and, though it was difficult to tell when it was Herbie or Mike speaking, together they revealed—among other things—that the Glazers are going to release £250M to spend on transfers this summer, so that Sir Alex can buy the players needed to win that third Champions League title before he retires at the end of next season. It’s brilliant stuff, and the kind of thing we don’t get from Rant Cast. You boys are going to have to up your game or risk being left behind entirely.

That’s actually very clever Rob, well done.
Seems a long time ago when the childishness of this forum used to irk you to the point that you threw a hissy fit, threatened to leave and then proved what an attention-seeking trollop you really are by reneging on your threat and staying.
You dirty little minx…
It’s not quite “Herbie’s Simplex”, but it’s close:

Thanks; I’m glad you liked it.
To be fair, I do think that ranters do a much better job of staying on topic for far longer than they used to.
Ooh look, a butterfly!
