Rio Bound
On this week’s pod Ed & Paul look back on international week, with a dramatic series of play-offs taking place worldwide to find the final qualifiers for next summer’s World Cup in Brazil. Sweden versus Portugal in the World Cup was a classic; England’s friendly against Germany at Wembley was not. Around a dozen United players made it to the finals. Also on this week’s pod: we look forward to the weekend’s game against Cardiff in Wales and to the Champions League fixture with Bayer Leverkusen. Finally, we have a fantastic competition to give away three pairs of tickets to the Manchester Premier of “The class of 92”. To win simply answer this question. In the famous picture of the ‘Class of 92’ featuring the Neville brothers, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville and David Beckham with coach Eric Harrison, who is the player everyone forgets?

I enjoy the podcast weekly, but it does sound like a Dad and his ten year old son.
You’re a Scout Leader or a Scout, so you know all about hanging about with Ten Year Old Boys right? Leave Paul alone. He loves United and is a giving person full of Joi de vivre and helps people on a daily basis. Plus he does it for the love of the club. What about you? You can only be bothered to post that insignificant and possibly offensive sentence. What about content over image/sound? We all need balance. Left and right, Yin and Yang. Ed & Paul. Rooney & Van Persie.
No where in my sentence do I complain, I actually think this is the best Utd podcast out there. Excuse me for making a mere light hearted comment, clearly these aren’t allowed so I’ll just sod off.
Glad you also enjoy the Rantcast.Well, what about the football? Isn’t that what matters? Independent thought and input? I don’t have the answers but who does? Even Fergie played most of it off the cuff to the end.Or just walk away, sure.Do you support United? This is such a monumental season and we all need to stick together surely. The knives are out for our lads as the Champions who have lost their leader, Let’s be United, not bickering kids like a lot of fans when their club has a tricky patch. We’ll emerge stronger or go down fighting. What d’ya reckon?
Lols.
Guys,
I was gorging on the 2007/08 season this week by watching the season review and road to Moscow highlights and couldn’t agree more with you on Rooney. If you look at the way he was playing back then compared to now (or even the last few seasons) it’s shocking. Sure there’s still the goals and some great passes but nothing like the player from 08.
I wouldn’t mind seeing Rooney leave if we give someone else the creative spot in the team but can’t see anyone bar an English club wanting him. It may be that we end up keeping Rooney until past his 30’s not because we want to but to keep him away from Chelsea, City or even Arsenal.
1. Rooney is finished. At least the player we paid close to 30 million for is. This more functional version won’t be worth half of that in 2 years’ time.
2. Our first choice midfield duo HAS to be Cleverley and Jones. Or Cleverley, Jones and Fellaini/Anderson. I really don’t trust Fellaini in the first XI yet.
3. Is Rafael fit?
4. Rooney isn’t the only striker who can be played out wide. I am surprised we haven’t used Hernandez and van Persie in those roles either. Maybe more to do with the manager.
5. How bloody is good is Victor Wanayama?
