Juan Big Signing
On this week’s show we discuss the ups and downs of life at United. It has been a disappointing week on the pitch, with David Moyes side losing heavily at Chelsea and then being knocked out by Sunderland in the Capital One Cup semi-final. Off the pitch, the week ended with Juan Mata signing from Chelsea for an incredible £37.1 million. Defeat at Stamford Bridge came at a heavy price, with United now 14 points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal and six behind fourth placed Liverpool. Moreover, the manner of defeat will worry Moyes – his players barely look capable of playing for the Scot, let alone willing to. Then came what many hope is the season’s nadir, with Sunderland beating United on penalties to book a date with Manchester City in the Capital One Cup final. At least Moyes admitted his side’s performance was abject – it’s close to the first time that has happened this season. But the week ended on a hugely positive note with midfielder Mata signing a four and a half year contract with the club to set a new club record transfer fee. Finally, we look forward to United’s fixture with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Cardiff in midweek and take your question!
