Rare is the moment that schadenfreude is not to be fully enjoyed – and rarer still does that moment come in a United victory over Liverpool at Anfield. And yet the stars aligned on Sunday when United beat the old rivals and Steven Gerrard offered one of the finest comedy moments of the season. United fans laughed so hard that it probably still hurts. On this week’s show, Ed & Paul look back on a fabulous United victory in L4, praising Juan Mata for a brace of outstanding goals, Louis van Gaal for the tactical masterclass, and Gerrard for stamping his way into United folklore. Tara, Stevie G, we’ll miss you. Sort of. Also, your questions, a preview of United’s next fixture against Aston Villa and the return of the Gilluminati!

I am really looking forward to listening to this! Cheers lads!
Early in the season when United were quite poor I thought Herrera was too quick for everyone
else. He was passing and then running for the return ball etc.
Interesting comment from him this week. Herrera said, ” LVG wants long possessions and to keep the ball because he believes you create spaces staying in the right place, because the team
have quality to find you. At the beginning he used to tell me off because I always looked for the ball, I wanted to have it, and I must wait for it. ”
That explains a lot about the slow, pedestrian, static displays.
Herrera came from Bilbao who play at a tempo similar to Fergie’s United. Has van Gaal seen the light and realised that tempo is important and this has allowed Herrera back into the fold?
Apologies for error in layout above.
Was distracted by watching another replay of Gerrard’s 43 seconds of fame.
This was worth the wait, fantastic as always.
