Not saying Paul’s comment about football fans in general was wrong (because it wasn’t, there is a lot of sexism in football), but to call United fans misogynistic for disliking Edurne in particular is very much misinformed. From what the media are portraying, it very much does seem like Edurne is pushing him to move to Spain, whereas he would have been happy to stay. Think about the reported ‘family meeting’ between them a couple of weeks ago when they supposedly discussed him moving to Spain. We know she wants him to move, so if he also wanted to move there would surely be no need for a meeting.
I’m not saying the media are correct, but I am saying that it is very much to do with the media, and not just football fans being sexist.
Blind may not be a key man – but remember it’s a squad game. http://t.co/4aPAezSeSW
Maybe he hasn’t been the best as far as form, but Juan Mata is definitely our best player
