RANTCAST ???
Hope there is some Rooney bashing before the testimonial
Get IN
More Rooney Rants, I swear you gents probably have posters in your rooms and were so hurt by his performance last season you tore them off the wall. He’ll come right under JM, maybe not WR from 2007 – 2013 but JM will get 15% out of him. Hey here’s an idea for the new show (for premium users), for a first interview bring Wazza in….LOL
Thanks for the pod. I share your concerns about Rooney. The one thing I will say is that I was pushing for Giggsy to be dropped when he had that prolonged dip in form on the left towards the end of his career, but then he really got it together in centre mid. Unfortunately Jose has made a rod for his own back by dismissing Rooney as a midfielder because I think that’s the only position in which he can contribute at Premier League level these days. He’s a hubristic type of guy, just look at his signing of Falcao for Chelsea, so he clearly thinks he can get the best out of Rooney up front but that would be some acheivement. I would have shipped him out years ago, Fergie always had a nose for this kind of thing and he tried to get rid of him for Moyes, but the club chickened out.
Other than that i think you might be eating your words about Valencia this season. I agree he’s been average for United for a few years but he’s been excellent in pre-season. He’s been in England for 10 years and still can’t speak English, obviously not too bright, so having a Spanish speaking manager is going to help him I think.
I worry we have too big a squad. We have two full teams all who could argue they deserve to play. We left the best player in the Bundesliga on the bench until injury time, but you couldn’t argue that Lingard or Mata didn’t play well.
I am a bit excited by Mourinho as a manager. I was dead against him coming the whole time, but watching him the last few weeks he does seem at home in the role….
By the time United pay off Basti s contact to get rid of him on a free it ll take total spent on his one season to more than ?
