Going Dark
It should be a joyous moment, with thousands of Reds getting ready for the Europa League final in Stockholm next week. And yet, José Mourinho’s team is doing a fine job of dampening the mood. In this week’s pod, Ed & Paul look back at the Reds’ uninspiring matches against Celta Vigo at Old Trafford and Tottenham Hotspur in London. There’s a bumper round of listener questions and a brief look ahead to the thoroughly meaningless games against Southampton and Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

United’s football has become drearier as the season has worn on. It’s as uninspiring in the Europa League as it is in the Premier League. It’s only because Anderlecht and Celta Vigo were second-raters that we managed to scramble through to the final.
The tap isn’t being turned on and off depending on which competition United is playing in. It’s just become one constant trickle, like some form of water torture.
